The Sports Shed

The Sports Shed makes it possible for kids to have positive alternatives to gangs and violence through organized sports. We take kids off the street and offer them the benefit of safe and successful sports programs. To date, we have worked with over 160 Chicago schools and youth programs who struggle with little to no budget. We make it possible for organizations to launch new athletic programs in addition to enhancing and expanding existing programs. Studies show that kids who participate in sports develop a healthier mind and body, and are more successful in school. Participation in athletic activities is linked to significantly lower drop out rates, greater civic involvement, and a better chance at moving on to college.
