Better Health 4Kids is a local non-profit care program serving low and moderate income families with children. Better Health 4Kids is not an insurance. Our mission is: Fostering access to preventive healthcare and advancing evidence based prevention and education for the optimal health of children and their families. We accomplish our mission through three programs: The Children's Health Fund providing temporary financial assistance to families with uninsured and underinsured children so they may access preventive health care from a Pediatrician; evidence based projects implemented in a Pediatric practice to improve the quality of health care delivery and standardization of practice; and collaboration with academic institutions in the implementation of research to improve the health of children and their families.

Empowering Children And Families

To help children and families construct and sustain a healthy foundation for the future. Empowering Children and Families advances our mission by providing a comprehensive “roadmap" unique to each family's strengths and challenges. The roadmap engages the entire family, requires demonstrated positive improvement, and provides much needed supports in the areas of mental health, education, social development, and family values. 100% of Empowering Children and Families funding comes from individual donors, community foundations, and corporate partners. This strategy leaves us free from government bureaucracy and political agendas. In the first year ECF will serve five families in the greater Bridgeport area. The staff of four is donating all of their time in the first year to supporting the mission of ECF.

MEGANS WINGS INC

Their mission is to improve the care and quality of life for children with cancer and offer support to their families. We focus our efforts on three main areas: Supporting the financial, physical, and emotional needs of families through our programs. Serving as an advocate and resource in the community for childhood cancer. Funding cutting edge research to help find a cure for childhood cancer. We carry out our mission through our Aid and Service Programs: Patient Aid Program – helps pay medical or household bills provide gas and grocery cards, repairs the family car to assist in getting the child to treatment, helps purchase bus and plane fare when treatment is far from home, help cover the cost of alternative therapies, and supplements not covered by insurance, and helps with funeral expenses when a child earns their wings. Parents often miss working to care for a critically ill child. Eventually, it’s hard to pay bills so Megan’s Wings Patient Aid Program steps in to help. We work directly with medical social workers who help identify families in need. Megan’s Home - provides temporary housing so families can stay close to the hospital while their child goes through long term treatment such as bone marrow transplant. Adopt a Family Program - provides care packages to families in need over the holidays. Special Events and Hospital Service Program hosts therapeutic events and luncheons for patients and their families in and outside the hospital setting. Our Research Program - funds cutting edge childhood cancer research through organizations such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, St Baldrick’s Foundation, and City of Hope to help find better treatments and cures for childhood cancer.

Aydens Army Of Angels

Ayden’s Army of Angels provides resources financial and nutritional, to any families effected by Pediatric Cancer. We also know the importance of creating memories, so we host a variety of events throughout the year, not only to bring awareness, but to provide families the opportunity to create lasting memories. Our primary funding has come from Ayden himself. Prior to Ayden’s passing we raised 265k to seek him alternative treatment. Before we could get to those options, Ayden passed. We have also hosted several parties and events for the families all at no cost to them.

Kraddick Foundation dba Kidd's Kids

Our mission is to elevate the quality of life through human enrichment experiences for families that have children with life-altering conditions. 25 years ago, Kidd and Carol Cradick had a seemingly-routine sonogram for a naturally-conceived, otherwise normal pregnancy. But for Carol, it wasn’t the outlined image of her unborn baby that worried her. It was the unnerving description from the OB/GYN. Before long, they understood the possible complications this child could face following her birth. Even somewhat positive readings from future sonograms couldn’t shake the fear that their daughter may never walk or leave a wheelchair. Fortunately, Caroline Cradick was born healthy. It was then that Kidd made a commitment to help families whose outcomes vastly differed from their own. As with the birth of their own miracle, Kidd’s Kids was born: a charity devoted to families touched by tragedy or disease, families who rarely saw a smile on their children’s faces, families who struggled with serious economic strangleholds due to the high cost of medical care and deserved a few days of happiness.
Initially, the program began as a bus ride to Sea World in San Antonio, Texas. During the charity’s infancy, the Cradick’s struggled with a lack of experience and funding. However, thanks to the volunteer efforts from medical professionals, nurses and physical therapists, as well as the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show listeners’ willingness to embrace and fund the trip, Kidd’s Kids started growing at an exponential rate. As Caroline grew healthy and matured, so did Kidd’s Kids. She would eventually go on to fulfill her destiny as the face and executive director of Kidd’s Kids. By this time, the charity had evolved to feature a full charter plane trip to Disney World. To this day, the charity remains a family affair - a family that includes all of the children, their loving care-takers and families, and the Kidd’s Kids staff working in tandem. Together, they create memories that most thought were impossible. For this, Kidd Kraddick and Kidd’s Kids, shall always be remembered.

House Of Blue Hope Foundation

The overall mission of Blue Hope is to raise funds, resources, social awareness, and provide other support for a variety of self-sustaining social development projects and programs, both domestically and abroad, in order to effectively fight social injustice at a grass roots level. As of its founding, Blue Hope is primarily focusing on working with education, poverty, and children’s issues in Tanzania, East Africa and has done so by constructing and supporting a residential and educational facility and its outreach program. House of Blue Hope pulls kids off the streets and puts them into a safe living and learning environment. With such access to one of the top schools in the country, the current and future residents of the House of Blue Hope will be provided with top-notch educational opportunities in a country in which only about 12% of the population receives a secondary education. Furthermore, the facility has become a large part of the local high school’s community service program, as well as a catalyst to keep alumni involved and connected after graduation.
