The Colorado Teen Project in a non-profit organization serving youth aging out of foster care and youth who have or are currently experiencing homelessness - essentially, youth in transition. This special population aged 16-24 is vulnerable to living a life on the streets, a life of loneliness and a lifetime of untapped potential. By creating community connections and tapping into the spark of the youth we serve, we can help create a sustainable community for so many. Our mission is to create a 1:1 mentorship connection for youth who may be held back by birth lottery, social stigma and learned dysfunction.

Ada’s Café is a Palo Alto-based 501(c) 3, non-profit that provides training and jobs for adults with developmental disabilities living primarily in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. The social mission of Ada’s is three-fold: (i) to hire and train adults with disabilities to work in its café and catering businesses, (ii) to engage teens and young adults through work and involvement with Ada’s disabled employees and (ii) to foster a better understanding among the general population about the contributions that can be made by developmentally disabled adults. The benefits of empowering and employing adults with developmental disabilities are clear, innumerable and easy to document with social science statistics. The population of adults with intellectual disabilities is one of the most marginalized in our society, is often ignored and suffers from an unemployment rate estimated at nearly 80%. The self-esteem and health benefits that come from having a job, the satisfaction that comes from making an important contribution to a sustainable enterprise and reducing the burden on an already overwhelmed and under-funded social welfare support system are just a few of the many benefits created by Ada’s. In addition, Ada’s believes that youth engaged in meaningful work will feel more connected to and invested in their communities. In all of its ventures, Ada’s Café brings diverse groups of people together in a warm and welcoming environment with a mission of creating good food and community.

The Girl Scout Mission Is To Build Girls Of Courage, Confidence, And Character, Who Make The World A Better Place. Serving Girls Ages 5-17 Through A Variety Of Council-Wide Programming And Events And Volunteer-Led Local Troop Activities, Today's Girl Scout Develops Leadership, Decision-Making, Goal-Setting, Philanthropic And Business Skills That Will Help Make Her Successful In Life. Girl Scouts Also Engages Girls In Financially Challenged Communities By Providing Facilitated, Donor-Supported Programs To Ensure All Girls Explore A Wide Range Of Topics And Opportunities Including Steam (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, And Math), Healthy Living, Business, Arts And Culture, And The Environment.

Friends of Troop 3 Newport Inc was established in 2020 to support the youth-development programs of BSA Troop 3 of Newport, Rhode Island. Specific programs include, but are not limited to: (1) collecting donations and deploying such donations toward programs that have long term benefits for Greater Newport youth and BSA Scout Troop 3, (2) broadening scouting opportunities by creating and administering charitable campership or scholarship programs, (3) contributing to direct expenses related to Narragansett Council-approved Eagle Scout projects, (4) organizing and supporting alumni programs with the purpose of enhancing the programs and activities of Troop 3, and (5) providing a qualified, tax-exempt organization to collect and hold long term assets donated to BSA Scout Troop 3.

With forty six years of experience, South Shore Stars is one of the state’s most respected early education and youth development community-based organizations. Throughout the year over 1200 children, ages birth to 16 years, attend our Early Head Start program, family child care system, 3 preschool centers, 5 school age centers, middle school program, high school program and summer camp. We are committed to serving a diverse population, with an emphasis on supporting low-income parents and at-risk children. Four core goals form the foundation of our work. They are to: Enable parents to work Help each child reach their full developmental potential Facilitate positive youth development Improve academic achievement for students at risk of academic failure

We serve approximately 11,500 girls in grades K5-12, and 5,500 adults who believe in our mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. With programs in Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha counties, we give every Girl Scout in our council the chance to reach their full leadership potential.

On March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low organized the very first Girl Scout troop, and every year since, we’ve honored her vision and legacy, building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Our Council, Girl Scouts of Northwestern Great Lakes (GSNWGL), covers 58 counties in northern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and serves over 16,000 girls. Girl Scouting has been THE organization for girls for over 100 years. Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.

THEIR MISSION: Exceeding Expectations, a program in San Bernardino that serves an inner-city population, is designed to encourage at-risk kids to move their lives in a positive direction, using the sport of triathlon as the vehicle. The goal is not to develop the kids into elite athletes, but rather to offer them opportunities to participate in a lifestyle that is healthy, goal-oriented and very unlike that which they experience in their everyday lives. We strive to replace negative influences with positive role models and to instill in the kids a powerful new discipline of setting measurable goals and working hard to achieve them. Our highest priority is education, and our ultimate objective is to ensure that every one of the kids graduates high school and goes on to college. Exceeding Expectations has no paid staff and no non-program costs other than insurance. Every penny we receive goes for race entry fees, bicycles and other equipment, tuition and other college expenses, etc.

We appreciate all donations of canned food, medicines and water, and will distribute those to all in need with the help of our allies. But we ask you to consider a monetary donation, which will enable us to tend other needs: buy fuel, contract local construction workers and, specially, implement community development projects P.E.C.E.S. fosters social, economic, educational development of individuals and communities in social disadvantage. The project began in Punta Santiago, Humacao in 1985 and has expanded its services to the eastern region of Puerto Rico. We want to inspire leaders, with special attention to youngsters, so they become champions of their own communities. Our work helps participants insert themselves into community processes and become protagonists of their own transformations. We do this through several programs tied to our three core service areas: education (including an alternative education high school); prevention services for at-risk populations; and entrepreneurship and development training.

Our mission is to provide educational services to people who are in need in Shelby County. Re-entry reporting is a separate component that we offer to inmates at the Shelby County Government: Divisions of Corrections before exiting the compound. Our goal is to empower and serve the greater good in Shelby County but are not limited to the needs of our city. We are investing in the citizens of Shelby County, City of Memphis and our next generation of youth and adult leaders. Our focus is helping families, the homeless, inmates incarcerated, and newly exiting offender population in need. We provide support, transitional services, staffing, operations, and management for Cooling/Warming Centers, Emergency aid and short term shelter options. Efforts are successful with community partners, sponsors, grants, fundraising, donations, food drives, coat drives, clothing, gently used furniture and so forth. We promote self-sufficiency, health & wellness, educational and advocacy programs. LHTF operates under four key values: Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.

The overall mission of Blue Hope is to raise funds, resources, social awareness, and provide other support for a variety of self-sustaining social development projects and programs, both domestically and abroad, in order to effectively fight social injustice at a grass roots level. As of its founding, Blue Hope is primarily focusing on working with education, poverty, and children’s issues in Tanzania, East Africa and has done so by constructing and supporting a residential and educational facility and its outreach program. House of Blue Hope pulls kids off the streets and puts them into a safe living and learning environment. With such access to one of the top schools in the country, the current and future residents of the House of Blue Hope will be provided with top-notch educational opportunities in a country in which only about 12% of the population receives a secondary education. Furthermore, the facility has become a large part of the local high school’s community service program, as well as a catalyst to keep alumni involved and connected after graduation.

Prevention First was incorporated in 1967 as the Central Jersey council on alcoholism. Over the years, the focus changed to the prevention of alcohol abuse and expanded to include other drugs and other forms of abuse (dating/relationship abuse, gang violence and bullying). To best reflect what the agency does and emphasize its importance, the name was ultimately changed to Prevention First. In 2013, we became an affiliate of preferred behavioral health group. Prevention First’s services are targeted to those in grades K–12 and provided during and after school by a staff of professional educators who are dedicated to the success of their students. Programs are proven, age-specific and include the tools, skills and support necessary for students to develop and maintain healthy, abuse-free relationships and lives. In addition, Prevention First educates parents, caregivers, businesses, law enforcement and community groups, provides on-site and online training for school personnel, conferences and workshops for prevention professionals and programs implemented through community outreach and the prevention coalition of Monmouth county.
