The Malawi Water Project funds three projects in rural Malawi that are operated by local Malawians. The projects train villagers on the construction and maintenance of the biosand water filter and improve the health of villagers by promoting proper sanitation and hygiene. Delta Community Living Society is a non-profit organization that partners with community members and groups to support adults with a developmental disability, their family and friends, in Delta and surrounding communities.

Our mission is to bring the best musicians and teachers of the Lower Mainland to Delta. Our school serves the needs of Ladner, Tsawwassen, North Delta, and other communities in the Lower Mainland. We offer private music lessons in clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, piano, voice, violin, viola, cello, choir, band, jazz ensemble, Music Theory and History. We also administer outreach programs including the Thrive City String Boot Camp and the South Delta Jazz Festival and Workshop.

NutritionLink Services Society (NLS) is a registered non-profit society incorporated under the Societies Act of BC. NutritionLink is also registered in Ottawa as a charitable organization. The Society is run by a volunteer board of Registered Dietitians and other British Columbians with a keen interest in nutrition. We currently employ Registered Dietitians to provide services through the projects and programs that we operate. On September 8, 2005 NutritionLink Services Society became a reality when our name was officially changed from Dial-A-Dietitian Nutrition Information Society of B.C. The Society was first incorporated in January 1993. The change in name delineates the society from our flagship program, Dial-A-Dietitian, and reflects our new purpose. The purposes of the Society are to promote and support the nutrition health of British Columbians by promoting leadership in evidence-based nutrition and linking opportunities with resources

The Diocese of Moosonee straddles both northern Ontario and Northwestern Quebec covering some 560,000 sq kms, second to the Diocese of the Arctic in geographic size. It is one of the great historic missionary areas of the Anglican Communion and of early Canada with records dating back to 1780. It is an area set in “an almost unbelievable land...of forests and lakes and rivers with mountains and muskeg and desolate tundra” (Olive Mackay Petersen). The southern part of the Diocese, called the Watershed Deanery, was developed with the mining, lumber and rail industries. The northern part of the Diocese that surrounds the James Bay and extends into inland moosoneearmsQuebec and is known as the James Bay Deanery is made up of the ancient aboriginal people of the north mostly of the Cree Nation.

We provide all the comforts of home...great food, comfy beds, quiet nooks, companionship or solitude...whatever yo wish. It is a place to find quiet, peace, and tranquility...at least for awhile.

Distress Centres of Toronto's 600 volunteers respond to more than 100,000 calls annually from grief stricken, lonely, depressed or suicidal callers in the Greater Toronto Area, keeping the crisis telephone lines open 24 hours a day, seven days a week at three locations: Distress Centre Central, Distress Centre North and Distress Centre Scarborough. The Survivor Support and the Homicide Bereavement Programmes provide grief counselling and suicide prevention to individuals who have lost someone through a tragic or violent death.

Through the provision of 24 hour support, counselling, and referrals to a myriad of community resources - all free of charge - Distress Centre ensures that everyone has a place to turn in a time of crisis, whatever that crisis may be. Built upon values of volunteerism, innovation and partnership, Distress Centre has a 40 year legacy, creating lasting social impact as an essential service in Calgary’s network of care. In 1968, a group of concerned citizens saw a need in this community and formed the Society of Organized Services. SOS is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization caring for people by offering services and resources not otherwise adequately provided within District 69.

For over 40 years, Meals on Wheels and More has been providing critical services to frail seniors and vulnerable adults in North York. Our services help people stay independent so they can continue to live in their own home. We deliver low-cost nutritious meals 7-days-a-week. Delicious hot meals. Convenient frozen options. Boxes of fresh fruit and vegetables. Friendly, trained volunteers will bring the comfort of a balanced meal straight to you door. We offer an economical daily transportation service for clients who have medical appointments or need help getting to social events, shopping, etc. We also offer counselling and assistance for clients (and their families) who need help maintaining their independence in the community. Our social worker provides information, coordinates community services and offers crisis intervention when needed. Caregiver support groups are also held monthly in conjunction with North York Seniors Centre.

Our congregation is part of The United Church of Canada, a denomination that continues the heritage of our Methodist/Presbyterian and Congregationalist predecessors. Over the years we have become Canada’s largest Protestant denomination, with more than three million adherents, drawn from every tradition imaginable. Our congregation is a microcosm of the community, drawing its members from every ethnic background. We have a strong core of working people, a musical Sunday School and plenty of “gray power”.
