Founded in 1929, The John Howard Society of the Lower Mainland is a well-established and highly reputable agency promoting community safety by supporting persons involved with, or at risk of being impacted by, the criminal justice system. Although our traditional client base is those persons who are in conflict with the law, we have developed an expertise in supporting persons with complex needs facing multiple barriers or who are considered hard to house. Our services include operating a spectrum of housing options under contract with the CSC, with Community Living British Columbia, or operated by the Society. We support clients in a number of areas including providing and assisting with finding housing; support with anger management; addiction, mental illness, and developmental disabilities, assistance with reintegration and with learning how to be responsible for themselves.

JOHN HOWARD SOCIETY OF DURHAM REGION

A non-profit, social service agency in Ontario Canada, JHS is dedicated to equipping individuals and families with the tools they need to succeed in life. This includes Employment, Housing, Counselling, Anger Management, Parenting, Harm Reduction, Adult Education, our DADS program, and more. Many of our services are free. JHS Durham has been serving the community since 1962 and works with thousands of individuals each year.

JOHN HOWARD SOCIETY OF PETERBOROUGH

Since 1957, the John Howard Society of Peterborough has been providing services to individuals of all genders, youth and adults, who are in conflict or at risk of becoming in conflict with the law, their families, and the victims of crime. Our goal is to help reduce the incidence of criminal behaviour through prevention, support, counselling, courses and programs and to better understand and cope with the criminal justice system. The John Howard Society of Peterborough is affiliated with the John Howard Society of Ontario and the John Howard Society of Canada, and is one of 55 local John Howard Organizations across the country. The organization’s roots go back to the 1770's, when Englishman John Howard, a former prison inmate, made it his life’s work to improve prison conditions and initiate reforms to the criminal justice system in Britain and across Europe. JOHN HOWARD SOCIETY OF WATERLOO - WELLINGTON

Providing crime prevention services for over 60 years, the John Howard Society is a non-profit organization with branches located in all major cities across Canada. The Society offers programs that aim to reduce recidivism among people who have been in trouble with the law and prevent delinquent behaviour among youth who may be at risk of offending. JUDITH MARCUSE PROJECTS (JMP)

Judith Marcuse Projects (JMP) is a multi-faceted arts organization with a focus on youth and activism. JMP is partnered with Simon Fraser University in the International Centre of Art for Social Change (ICASC). ICASC features learning and dialogue programs, networking events and research projects designed to nurture and support the growing global community of arts for social change. ICASC is a hub where people working for progressive change in fields such as health, social justice and human rights, environmental education and community economic empowerment, can learn about the many ways that art for social change practices can be used as highly-effective tools in their work.

Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia

Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia (JA) has been the leading provider of youth financial education and entrepreneurial activities in the province for 40 years. JA programs help students understand economic principles and develop entrepreneurial, leadership and interpersonal skills. JA experiences promote the skills, understanding and perspectives students need to succeed in a global economy and be productive, contributing members of society with an emphasis on three areas: Financial literacy Entrepreneurship Work readiness In Nova Scotia, JA offers young leaders four programs free of charge, starting as early as grade six: Our Business World, the Economics for Success, JA Titan and the Company Program.

Junior Achievement of Central Ontario has provided hands-on experiences which help young people understand the economics of life since 1968. In partnership with educators and volunteers, Junior Achievement brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential, serving nearly 70,000 students in Central Ontario in 2008-2009 alone. Through the generous support of our volunteers and donors Junior Achievement provides relevant financial literacy and entrepreneurial programs. In direct partnership with business and educators, Junior Achievement brings the real world to students, opening their mind and their potential. This has all been made possible through continued financial and voluntary support of companies and individuals, who share the Junior Achievement philosophy and ideals. Junior Achievement operates as two separate charitable organizations in Alberta, with separate legal identities. All monies raised on this website will be split between Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta and Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories.

THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF CALGARY

Since 1950,the Junior League of Calgary (JLC) has been working to bridge the gap between society's needs and existing community resources. The result is a legacy of training, leadership and voluntarism that has made a difference in Calgary. Past projects include the launch of Calgary Reads, Junior Chefs, Kids Help Phone, and Volunteer Calgary. Current projects promote healthy and active living for youth. We believe that education and support for youth is critical in building self-esteem and reversing the cycle of poverty. The Teen Tote project collects gifts and hygiene items for teenagers who would otherwise be missed during the Christmas season. Kids in the Kitchen is an international education initiative to empower children to lead healthier lives through hands-on activities related to nutrition, food preparation and physical fitness. Kids in Motion and Kids in the Arts introduce preschool concepts to at-risk children using story-telling, crafts, dancing, music and games.
