Second Harvest Food Bank is leading our community in the fight to end hunger. We provide food, services, and education to address nutritional needs of all people at risk in an 18-county service area, including: Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Cumberland, Fentress, Hamblen, Grainger, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier, and Union. Food banks are by far the single most important source of food for nonprofit agencies in East Tennessee, accounting for 78% of the food distributed by pantries, 68% of the food distributed by soup kitchens, and 54% of the food distributed by shelters and drug-rehab centers. Many of the agencies who feed the hungry would not be able to keep their doors open were it not for Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. Second Harvest Food Bank provides the following services to meet the needs of our communities: 1) Distributes over 15 million meals of food annually through six major food-distribution programs. 2) Recovers 8 million pounds of perishable foods that would otherwise be discarded, and redistributes that food to local soup kitchens, food pantries, and senior facilities who directly serve the hungry. 3) Provides supplemental food for over 12,150 elementary school children over the weekends during the school year. 4) Collaborates with Knox County Community Action Committee and the Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service Inc. to meet the nutritional needs of approximately 950 seniors through our Senior Outreach. 5) Administers Federal Food Programs (USDA) for local agencies. 6) Provides education for partners agencies, including ServSafe training.

Donations made to the ACLU Racial Justice Program will fund our critical work to protect voting rights, demand that vulnerable people in prisons, jails and immigration detention centers be released, and fight to ensure reproductive health care remains open and accessible to all who need it. Helen Woodward Animal Center is a private, non-profit organization serving San Diego County where "people help animals and animals help people." With 14 unique programs all dedicated to that mission, the Center provides lifesaving rescue and medical care to thousands of orphan pets yearly, animal assisted therapy to children and adults in need, and humane education to thousands of children, teaching them about the importance of fostering the animal-human bond.

Founded by renowned primatologist Jane Goodall, the Jane Goodall Institute is a global nonprofit that empowers people to make a difference for all living things. Our work builds on Dr. Goodall’s scientific work and her humanitarian vision. Specifically, we seek to: Improve global understanding and treatment of great apes through research, public education and advocacy Contribute to the preservation of great apes and their habitats by combining conservation with education and promotion of sustainable livelihoods in local communities Create a worldwide network of young people who have learned to care deeply for their human community, for all animals and for the environment, and who will take responsible action to care for them

As Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria have impacted islands throughout the Caribbean, we are proud to join with our destination partners to assist residents and communities following the storms, while providing financial support to a wide variety of relief organizations and doing our part to help the region in its recovery. The Caribbean and its residents hold a special place in our hearts and we are committed to participating in the ongoing relief effort and providing assistance to those who need our help. Carnival Cruise Line and our parent company Carnival Corporation are providing extensive and wide-ranging relief to those affected by these storms, with ships delivering critical supplies to impacted islands, including food, water, and other essential items, to assist residents throughout the region. Carnival Corporation, Miami HEAT Charitable Fund and the foundation of Carnival Corporation Chairman Micky Arison and his wife Madeleine (the Micky and Madeleine Arison Family Foundation) have pledged up to $10 million in funding and in-kind support in Florida and throughout the Caribbean following Hurricane Irma. An immediate donation by the Micky and Madeleine Arison Foundation of $2.5 million will benefit Direct Relief, UNICEF and the United Way to support the most timely and urgent relief needs. Carnival is also donating proceeds from ticket sales for two recent Carnival LIVE performances by comedian Chris Tucker aboard Carnival Liberty and Carnival Breeze to hurricane relief. In addition, for Hurricane Harvey, Carnival Cruise Line, Carnival Corporation and the Micky and Madeleine Arison Family Foundation have already donated $2 million toward relief organizations that are providing food, water, medicine, shelter and other basic necessities to residents in affected communities. The mission of the Project HOME community is to empower adults, children, and families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, to alleviate the underlying causes of poverty, and to enable all of us to attain our fullest potential as individuals and as members of the broader society. We strive to create a safe and respectful environment where we support each other in our struggles for self-esteem, recovery, and the confidence to move toward self-actualization. Project HOME achieves its mission through a continuum of services comprised of street outreach, a range of supportive housing, and comprehensive services. We address the root causes of homelessness through neighborhood-based affordable housing, economic development, and environmental enhancement programs, as well as through providing access to employment opportunities; adult and youth education; and health care. Project HOME is committed to social and political advocacy. An integral part of our work is education about the realities of homelessness and poverty and vigorous advocacy on behalf of and with homeless and low-income persons for more just and humane public policies. Project HOME is committed to nurturing a spirit of community among persons from all walks of life, all of whom have a role to play in making this a more just and compassionate society.

The Foundation's mission is to raise funds to support the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes in Denver where over 6000 children and adults from around the world currently receive the finest care available.

Established in 1983, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center is at the heart of the LGBT community in New York City, providing quality health and wellness programs in a welcoming space that fosters connections and celebrates our cultural contributions. We strive to serve the LGBT community with a full-service, multi-faceted approach to programming, from hosting arts and entertainment events, advocacy groups and family gatherings to offering youth, recovery and overall wellness programs. 

To provide care, support, advocacy and education to people in Erie County impacted by serious illness and loss.

As members of the Black theatre community, we stand together to help protect Black people, Black talent and Black lives of all shapes and orientations in theatre and communities across the country. Our voices are united to empower our community through activism in the pursuit of justice and equality for the betterment of all humanity. We will not be silent. We will be seen. We will be heard. We are here. Join us.This call to action is just the beginning. It was the latest manifestations of police brutality that galvanized Black Theatre United into being. With roots reaching into all 50 of the United States this coalition can harness invaluable political scope and influence. To elevate a cause or to overturn policies that target black people in any one state or community, the group will draw on members with local connections to use their visibility and influence for good in theater and on the national stage.
