Alternatives is a community-based mental health agency located in the East End of Toronto. We provide one-to-one client counselling, case management and community supports to individuals who have significant mental health challenges. We value the knowledge and strengths of the individuals who use our services and are committed to giving choice and flexibility to the individuals we serve. We provide individual community support and counselling, groups, advocacy, linkages to other services, information and referrals. We are recovery-oriented in that we focus on self-determination, support / connection, and self-advocacy and hope as part of a journey towards improved well being. Alternatives serves the East York Community. This includes the Thorncliffe community. Self referrals are strongly encouraged and welcome. Languages served: Urdu/Hindi, Gujarati, Farsi/Dari. We are funded by the Toronto Local Health Integration Network.

The Kedzie Center was created through the efforts of North River residents, who worked to ensure that all community members would have access to compassionate, quality and culturally-informed mental health care.Services provided are individual, family and group therapy, psychiatric consultation, and guidance in identifying and accessing community resources; services are provided in both English and Spanish and are available to children, adolescents and adults.

Mental Health Recovery Partners Society, South Island

BCSS Victoria was formed in 1984 and is the largest branch of the BC Schizophrenia Society with over 300 members. The branch operates programs and services for family members and those with schizophrenia, such as: family counselling and peer support, a reference library, respite care, consumer peer support, public education through our Partnership Presentations, and the Memorial (scholarship) Fund. The Victoria Branch of BCSS is supported by the United Way, private donations, fundraising activities and Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA).

Helen Ross Mcnabb Mental Health Foundation Inc

Since its founding in 1972, the Helen Ross McNabb Foundation has worked diligently to support the work of the McNabb Center. In addition to providing leadership and direction, the Foundation’s staff and 26-member volunteer board actively raises, holds and invests funds on behalf of the Center. Funds raised by the Foundation over the years have contributed greatly toward the stability and growth of the Center. The Foundation raises funds through several avenues.
