Beacon House

Beacon House's mission is to promote the academic advancement and personal growth of children in Washington, DC’s Edgewood neighborhood. We envision a future in which children in Edgewood become empowered lifelong learners who achieve their greatest potential.Beacon House provides afterschool education and youth development services to nearly 400 children, ages 5-18, annually. We are located in the Edgewood Commons affordable housing complex, in Ward 5 of the District of Columbia, and a majority of the students we serve live on campus.Our programs focus on closing the education achievement gap – and thus improving the economic trajectories – of children in Ward 5 for whom generational poverty is most persistent.

Kristi House

Kristi House is dedicated to eradicating child abuse and child sex trafficking – working nationally on solutions, and locally to heal child-victims. Operating the nationally accredited, State-designated Child Advocacy Center (CAC) for Miami-Dade County, Kristi House is responsible for coordinating the seven community partners involved in the investigation, prosecution and treatment of child abuse cases. Kristi House assists child-victims and their families in navigating the complex services involved in the healing process. We are nationally recognized for our evidence-based, therapeutic expertise in treating child sexual abuse and other forms of child trauma. All services are provided at no charge to victims and families.

WYNDHAM HOUSE

Wyndham House operates two residences for homeless youth (one for young men, the other young women) who are committed to finishing their highschool education and participating in our lifeskill development program. The After Care program works with exiting and former residents to maximize their potential for successful independent living. Wyndham House also operates a youth emergency shelter for the City of Guelph and a downtown youth resource centre that provides supports, referrals and resources to youth in need of assistance. Partly funded by the United Way and Wellington County Social Services, Wyndham House relies on donations, fundraising events and grants to generate almost one-third of the budget required to operate it's residential program.

Sadleir House

Sadleir House is a not-for-profit community & student centre dedicated to providing meeting, performance, and office spaces to members of the Trent University and Peterborough communities. The House itself is a Victorian mansion emblematic of the Queen Anne Revival style of architecture that was renovated in the 1960s by Trent University and then later purchased in 2004 by the PR Community & Student Association. The facility is intended to strengthen and promote relations between Trent University students and the citizens of Peterborough and through this, enrich and create educational and cultural opportunities in and around the city. Donations to Sadleir House help us to maintain and repair our facility, expand and promote our activities, library, and services to the Trent and Peterborough communities.

Prospect House

The Mission of Prospect House is to provide high quality drug and alcohol treatment in a long-term residential setting to men without money, insurance or other resources.

Susannah's House

Susannah’s House, an alcohol and drug treatment program for mothers in recovery, is a faith-based organization that exists to serve the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of mothers and their children. In the highly structured program at Susannah's House, women engage in a gender-specific treatment specializing in alcohol and drug addiction. This treatment program focuses on issues which are pertinent to recovery and stabilization that include self-esteem and self-worth, empowerment, and positive lifestyles.

HERIZON HOUSE

Herizon House is a shelter for abused women and their children. We offer free confidential services 24 hours a day. - Emergency Shelter - Crisis counselling for abused women - 24 hour crisis phone counselling for abused women - Supportive programs for resident children - Housing and legal support - Referrals and community advocacy A safe, non-judgmental environment for women leaving abusive relationships and wishing to live independently of their abusers.

Harbor House

Harbor House hopes to contribute to the building of a just community where all people are included. We see all human beings as worthy of our time and our efforts. We offer referrals, resources, case management, and a hand up for those who are struggling. It is our goal to help all people in our community find hope, gainful employment, affordable housing, and a sense of personal well being
