Winnipeg Arts Council Inc.

The Winnipeg Arts Council Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation with charitable status, charged by the City of Winnipeg to distribute funding to arts organizations and artists, to manage the City’s Public Art Policy, and to foster development of the arts for the people of Winnipeg. As a pre-eminent city-building organization, the Winnipeg Arts Council focuses on the quality of life in the city and how arts and culture determines Winnipeg’s reputation as a City of the Arts, both nationally and internationally.

Mid State Literacy Council

Mid-State Literacy Council provides literacy services for the residents of Centre and Clearfield Counties. Basic Literacy and English as a Second programs serve the needs of young adults and adults. Services are provided with integrity and care. Residents seek the opportunity to achieve work, education, and family goals through literacy education. Mid-State Literacy Council trains volunteers as tutors and classroom leaders who then provide instruction to adult students in accessible locations.

Blue River Arts Council

The Blue River Arts Council is bridging cultures, building community, and boosting economy by resurrecting the Isis Theatre in Crete, Nebraska, and providing fun and artistic adventures for all of our diverse community.

The Council On Recovery

The mission of The Council on Recovery is to keep our community healthy, productive and safe by providing services and information to all who may be adversely affected by alcohol, drugs and related issues. The vision of The Council On Recovery is a community in which substance abuse is no longer a major community problem; all people who experience alcohol, drug or related problems have access to effective, affordable services that address their needs; and that individuals and organizations find the freedom from the shame and stigma currently attached to substance abuse.

Oceanside Community Arts Council

OCAC was founded in 1976 by groups of local residents dedicated to promoting a wider enjoyment and appreciation of the arts and community-based cultural events throughout the greater Parksville/Qualicum Beach area of central Vancouver Island. Oceanside Community Arts Council is a non-profit, registered charity that serves the entire Oceanside community by providing programs and a venue for cultural and artistic expression. Music, literature, performing arts and visual arts are all served within the Arts Council directive “to engage, energize, educate and enrich the cultural life of the Oceanside community”.

Civic Leadership Training Council

The mission of the Civic Leadership Training Council is to identify, motivate and continually develop new and emerging leaders from business, non-profit, and public sectors to affect change in the quality of civic, cultural, and economic life in Wyandotte County.

SUMMERLAND COMMUNITY ARTS COUNCIL

The Summerland Community Arts Council operates an Art Gallery and a Gift Gallery at the Arts Centre located at 9533 Main Street in downtown Summerland. In addition, the Arts Council holds various workshops throughout the year, promotes the annual Arts and Culture Week in April, coordinates the downtown street banner program, holds a Summer Art Program, organizes Art Walk, where local artists have works on display in the businesses of the downtown area, and in conjunction with the annual Festival of Lights holds Mainly Art which features a wide range of art, from paintings to sculpture, for sale. WOLFVILLE AREA INTERCHURCH COUNCIL

The Wolfville Area Inter-Church Council was founded in 1970 as an ecumenical Christian commitment to address perceived spiritual and social needs. The Council has spun off many projects: the Dorcas Shoppe to provide inexpensive clothing for low income families (since closed); Senior Citizen Housing; the Meals-on-Wheels program; and the Interchurch Housing Society, which created decent affordable housing for poor families and whose success made it the subject of two National Film Board documentaries. Since 1973 WAICC with various community organizations has operated a Christmas Food Program. In 1979 a year round Emergency Food Relief program was added. WAICC now provides other relief such as emergency delivery of heating oil and recently started contributing to the School Breakfast Program. Public seminars, lectures, workshops and religious services are organized by the Council and financed by the member churches. These churches also contribute financially to the food programs.
