Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor Essex is a nonprofit volunteer organization that matches an interested, caring, adult volunteer with a young person between the ages of six and sixteen years. The relationship that develops is one of friendship which helps the child to see their worth and assume a positive place in society. The agency also utilizes a group work environment to increase the potential for individual growth and development, to provide opportunities for the development of peer relationships and to enhance the youth's career awareness and knowledge of community resources. The organization is committed to assisting both boys and girls who are facing difficult challenges in their personal lives, at home or at school.

Big Brothers Big Sisters matches adult volunteers (18 and over) with boys or girls aged six to sixteen who come from primarily single parent families. Big Brothers/Sisters spend a minimum of 2 outings per month with their Little Brothers/Sisters doing a wide range of friendship-based activities together. Volunteers provide encouragement, guidance, and support. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a donor-supported volunteer organization and you can make a major difference for the kids simply by making a donation.
