Mission Statement: Volunteer ambulance service providing Basic Life Support treatment and transport to area hospitals on a 24 hour/7 day a week basis. Description: Volunteer first aid squad providing Basic Life Support ambulances in the west, central portion of Franklin Township and in Millstone Borough, Somerset County. Staffed by volunteer Emergency Medical Technicians, the squad responds to assist the sick and injured on a 24 hour/7 day a week basis.
The Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad, Inc. was organized in 1962 as independent non-profit corporation dedicated to providing emergency medical services (EMS), non-emergency ambulance transportation and health/safety training to the Summit community. They are the primary response agency for all 9-1-1 medical calls. They are staffed 100% by volunteers and are funded solely through private contributions. All of their services are provided free of charge. The Squad is run by officers and a Board of Trustees who are elected from among the membership.
Families First Society helps build family strengths by connecting parents to other parents and resources in the community through a variety of programs and services. Our programs are offered in a friendly, welcoming environment where families can feel comfortable in sharing their challenges, issues and/or concerns while at the same time gaining social benefits for both the parent and child. Our goal is to provide support as early as possible to families who face everyday challenges and stressors that often arise in our efforts to raise a healthy family. The primary goal of the FFMC is to enhance and supplement educational deficiency in the arts, specifically music, caused by repetitive school budget cuts. Through private donations and grants the FFMC is able to provide lesson scholarships to students in need and hire professional musicians to assist teachers, conduct workshops, and give students unique performance training opportunities throughout the community.
