LONDON-MIDDLESEX SUICIDE PREVENTION COUNCIL

The London-Middlesex Suicide Prevention Council(LMSPC)is a council comprised of volunteers representing organizations that deliver suicide prevention, support and/or treatment programs as well as survivors of suicide. It has been in existence since 1990. The Council aims to achieve its mission by; * Providing public awareness, education and advocacy in regards to suicide risk and prevention. * Providing opportunities for skill development that addresses suicide awareness, intervention, support and treatment. * Supporting the appropriate allocation of resources to support a full range of consumer-centered services to individuals and families. * Addressing stigma and discrimination experienced by individuals who have attempted suicide or the family members of those who have died by suicide. * Promoting and supporting collaboration among service providers. Donations will support local initiatives allowing us to continue to make a difference in our community. Thank you.

SASKATOON COUNCIL ON AGING, INC

The Council is operated by a board of volunteers,the majority of whom are older adults, and has two main functions: operating a Resource/Walk-in Centre to enhance the quality of life for older adults and working with local agencies to initiate, implement and evaluate projects useful to older adults in the community.

BAY AREA RESTORATION COUNCIL (BARC)

The Bay Area Restoration Council (BARC) is at the centre of citizen efforts to restore and protect the ecosystem health of Hamilton Harbour and its watershed. A community non-profit group, BARC also functions as a watchdog organization, assessing and promoting the clean up projects for the bay. Local stakeholders and governments follow a clean up strategy, created by the community, called the Remedial Action Plan (RAP). Continued commitment to the plan is essential to achieve habitat restoration, public accessibility and improved water quality goals. Involving the community in harbour issues requires public participation and membership support. The Bay Area Restoration Council delivers school programs, guided harbour tours and lecture series.

RCBC played a major role in the establishment of B.C.’s many ground-breaking product stewardship programs, which are emulated around the world.

Arts Council of Fort Erie

The Fort Erie Arts Council encourages diverse artistic endeavours in the Fort Erie community to enrich the lives of its residents. We are committed to the development of a rich and sustainable environment for the arts and culture in the Municipality of Greater Fort Erie and to further develop a strong and thriving creative spirit through the arts as the heart of the community life.

Sault North Waste Management Council

SNWMC was formed in 2006 to address the closure of four waste disposal sites since 2000 and the predicted short lifespan of the remaining two. The Sault North Waste Management Council is comprised of volunteers from the area North of the City of Sault Ste. Marie (Goulais, Heyden, Batchewana, Searchmont), and representatives from various provincial ministries.

Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council Inc.

The Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council evolved after World War II when "displaced persons" had to declare their religious affiliation to enter the country. Various denominations sought to help their own integrate in Canada with assistance provided in ports of entry. With common goals and interest in immigration and immigration policy, an organization of different churches grew together. The services offered now rely on funding from the Federal Government, the Provincial Government of Manitoba, private foundations, individual donors and the faith community. The current staff complement of over 60 people, plus numerous volunteers, provides the services. The majority of the staff are immigrants and/or refugees and are able to provide services in 22 languages. The Board of Directors of the Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council is composed of appointed representatives of faith groups. All faiths are welcome to appoint representatives.

Illinois River Valley Arts Council

The Illinois River Valley Arts Council is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting artists, arts, art education, and art expiences in the community. Our Learning Through Arts program provides in-school art and cultural education. Arts in the Valley provides a variety of art, music and literary experiences for our community in southern Oregon.
