THE LEWA WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY (CANADA)

The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (LWC) is a non-profit wildlife sanctuary in Kenya covering 62,000 acres. The principal activities of the Conservancy are wildlife conservation and land management combined with extensive community education and health services. Lewa Canada's two main roles are to: increase awareness of and raise funds for LWC; and facilitate and increase Canada's educational, research and other linkages with LWC. Lewa Canada is managed by an all-volunteer Board comprised of 8 members. The Board is committed to helping LWC achieve its goals, and includes members with expertise in education, finance, fundraising, marketing, media and wildlife research. The all-volunteer efforts of Lewa Canada's Board and Advisory Council have enabled the transfer of over 98% of all funds received to LWC in Kenya.
