We work to curb the needless removal of children from everyone they know and love and the unnecessary placement of those children in foster care, often when family poverty is confused with "neglect." We do this not because such removal harms parents, but because of the enormous harm the misuse and overuse of foster care does to children.

In 1999-2000 the state HUD field office in Knoxville identified structural and geographic improvements needed across Tennessee if homeless services were to be coordinated effectively. Those efforts included the 24-county area of east Tennessee. TVCH continues to work to fulfill our mission of bridging the gaps in the TN Valley Region! The mission of ASD is to create and strengthen healthy communities through the delivery of quality, affordable, service-enriched housing for individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS. ASD’s mission includes advocacy, education, and the development of affordable housing options and community development opportunities, both for its residents living with HIV/AIDS, and for economically disadvantaged people.

We work to preserve, protect and enhance an environment that is livable, healthful and sustainable through a comprehensive program of education, citizen action and legal defense.

TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY SHELTER AND SUPPORT SERVICES TO VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE AND ADVOCATE FOR CHANGES THAT WILL BREAK THE CYCLE OF VIOLENCE IN SOCIETY THROUGH COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND PREVENTION PROGRAMMING.

Aims • To protect, develop and promote the role of music in education. • To establish a national network that provides support to parents, local advocacy and music education organizations. • To support the role of teachers of music in education. • To accumulate information and statistics on all pertinent aspects of music education in Canada. • To research and distribute appropriate resource/support materials. • To promote life-long participation and engagement in music. • To support the use of active music making in therapeutic settings.

The FFC-NWT provides support services to foster families across the territory. one small part of this is providing 6 week-long summer camps for at risk children and youth from across the territory between the ages of 7-18.

LCNB has worked since 1988 to promote literacy and change the lives of over half of New Brunswick adults experiencing literacy challenges in their everyday lives. LCNB also works directly with children, families and adult learners.
