Founded in 1914, the American Sexual Health Association (ASHA) promotes the sexual health of individuals, families and communities by advocating sound policies and practices and educating the public, professionals and policy makers, in order to foster healthy behaviors and relationships and prevent adverse sexual health outcomes.

For almost three decades, North Shore Schizophrenia Society has been helping family members cope with mental illness in a loved one and, through this vital support, has helped their mentally ill relatives in turn. It's support, too, of a unique, and uniquely valuable, kind. Our organization, as we explain on our website, "consists of family members and friends of the mentally ill who have been through it, know what others are going through and can share their experiences." Operating through our Family Support Centre, open five days a week (with crisis contact after hours), and with the assistance of staff, we provide support, counselling, information, education, advocacy and outreach services. The Centre helps families dealing with all serious mental illnesses: schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety disorders. We fight stigma and advocate for families and patients. It's front-line work - and work that makes a difference.

The InterAgency Council (IAC) is the membership organization representing the not-for-profit providers of services to individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities, and their families, in the metropolitan New York City area. Our membership includes some 125 corporations with over 900 programs providing services to more than 100,000 individuals each day. Services include infant assessment, early intervention, preschools, schools, recreation, family supports, employment programs, residential services, and clinical treatment programs.

Ocean Alliance strives to increase public awareness of the importance of whale and ocean health through research and public education. We work with our scientific partners to collect a broad spectrum of data on whales and ocean life. Ocean Alliance uses this data to advise educators, policy makers, and the general public on wise stewardship of the oceans to mitigate pollution, prevent the collapse of marine mammal populations, and promote ocean and human health. The mission of SCAD Alliance is to be the leader in advancing the science of Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) through improved knowledge and cooperation among health care professionals, patients and their families. The Quilt Alliance is a nonprofit organization founded in 1993 to support and develop projects to document, preserve, and share the history of quilts and quiltmakers.
