The Jordana Lokash Foundation was established by the family and friends of Jordana Lokash, who died in a car accident in March 1991. Jordana was a gymnast, majoring in Phys. Ed. at the time of her death. She was a camping enthusiast, who loved to work with children and aspired to use sport and physical activity to help others. THE SOCRATES EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SOCRATES FOUNDATION The initiative to create an Educational Foundation was the brain child of a group of parents who filed an application with Canada Customs and Revenue Agency for the purpose of creating a non-profit charitable organization. In filing their application, their objective was to strive to raise funds for the purpose of providing financial support for the advancement and/or enrichment of trilingual (French, Greek & English) education in Canada.The path of navigating a request through Charities Canada proved to be a long and difficult undertaking.With financial contributions received from different individuals, the final obstacles were overcome and after four long years the “Socrates Educational Foundation” (SEF) obtained its charitable operations number, effective August 1, 2003.

THE EAST YORK FOUNDATION

The East York Foundation was established by an Act of Provincial Parliament in 1964. The Foundation owns a collection of art, historical artifacts, rare books & documents of historical significance. The Foundation is governed by a board of directors made up of residents of East York & Leaside; Ray White, John Carter, Gord Piercey, Councillor Mary Fragedakis, Michael Prue MPP, Adrian King, Geoff Kettel, Elaine Snider and Bill Buckingham. Several works of art are on permanent display at the S. Walter Stewart Library. The Foundation is dedicated to the promotion of community groups & associations and also helps in fundraising efforts for capital works projects such as recreational facilities, arenas, halls of fame,memorial tributes & structures of historical & artistic significance. The White Rose Foundation

The White Rose Foundation,Incorporated, wasfounded in Denver, Colorado, on January17, 2007, by members of the Denver CO Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, anorganization of professional women of color that addresses disparities in the Black community.
