Love on Wheels is a non-profit organization that provides new suitcases filled with basic necessities for children entering the foster care system. Our goal is provide stability and a stronger sense of self-worth to children in crisis as they transition into a new home. The first 4 1/2 minutes of this video explains our mission. What began in 1988 as a small film festival has evolved into a year-round multi-faceted queer arts organization with the following core programs: Vancouver Queer Film Festival Celebrating the best in independent queer cinema the Vancouver Queer Film Festival is Vancouver's second largest film festival. The Festival hosts a variety of performances, workshops, and parties; facilitating a unique community space for 11 days each August. Out in Schools Out in Schools engages youth through film in the promotion of safer and more diverse learning environments, free from homophobia and bullying. Homophobia and bullying are serious issues facing today's youth, particularly queer youth. By bringing queer films to local high schools to facilitate discussion with youth on bullying, homophobia and stereotypes, we give youth a safer space to explore these issues.

At Dentists on Wheels (DOW) our mission is to reach and treat patients with limited accessible oral healthcare service located in and around Contra Costa County. DOW works to promote health equity in our local community while simultaneously teaching proper oral health care practices.Volunteers, including dentists and assistants, work collectively to help underserved and uninsured individuals become free from dental health issues. DOW is proud to have a team of dedicated individual that help provide low to no cost, high-quality restorative and preventative dental care to uninsured and underserved individuals. At DOW, our ultimate mission is to address and rectify the issue of limited accessible oral healthcare services within our local community.
