The Longhorn Project

The Longhorn Project at Johnson Space Center is an innovative educational partnership among The Longhorn Project, a 501(c) (3) charitable nonprofit organization, NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC), the Houston Livestock Show and RodeoTM, area school districts, and the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America. The LHP’s purposes are twofold: 1) To provide students with a unique educational experiences that combines an agricultural and STEM curriculum with leadership and personal growth opportunities in a hands-on, working environment; and 2) To promote the preservation and legacy of the Texas registered Longhorn, the cattle native to the state of Texas.

York Street Project

Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace in 1989, York Street Project's (YSP) mission is to weave together innovative programs that shelter, feed, educate and promote the healing and independence of persons in need, especially women and their children. York Street Project has an established record of providing quality services to nearly 500 homeless and low-income women and children each year. Using a comprehensive approach, we help our women heal from a life severely impacted by poverty, while also strengthening their life skills and independence as they transition to permanent housing.

Armstead Academic Project

I have decided to launch the, Armstead Academic Project to ensure that every student no matter their socioeconomic status has access to a quality education. One of the primary goals of our organization, Armstead Academic Project is to supply students with a learning environment and resources that allows them to thrive and be successful. In addition, I will use my platform and the reach of our organization to advocate for more public school funding especially in poverty stricken communities. We also plan to partner with teachers and be an aid allowing them to educate our youth at the highest level. The Armstead Academic Project is fully committed to providing equal opportunity in our public school system throughout Sacramento. The youth of Sacramento are our future. We have not forgotten about you. The decisions we make today to educate our youth will have not only a lasting impact on Sacramento, but on our country as a whole. The Media Project

A free and democratic press willing to explore the role of religion as an essential part of public life is one of the founding principles of The Media Project. The mission of 501c(3) organization includes helping journalists develop the skills needed to engage in an intellectually honest and critical approach to subjects related to religion, ethics and values to enrich and deepen coverage of religion -- regardless of the reporter's personal faith. Since it's founding, The Media Project has developed a worldwide network of journalists who often submit ideas for conferences and workshops most needed in the countries in which they live and work. The programs are open to journalists of all faith traditions.

The Hazel Project

The mission of The Hazel Project is to improve the quality of life for all marginalized people who suffer while enduring judgement from society, by establishing a transitional foundation for them to build upon, combining traditional donation distribution with modern harm reduction techniques.

TEN OAKS PROJECT

We are based Ottawa and currently offer two summer programs - Camp Ten Oaks and Project Acorn - in addition to other year-round activities and programs. Camp Ten Oaks is a one-week, sleep-away camp for children and youth ages 8-17. With space for 72 campers, the summer schedule at Camp Ten Oaks is designed to provide campers of all ages with an extraordinary camp experience. Our activities include both the traditional and the cutting-edge. Our camp program is offered to campers and families on a sliding scale fee. Project Acorn is a leadership retreat for youth aged 16-24 from LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, two-spirit, and queer) communities (including youth from LGBTQ families and/or youth who identify as LGBTQ). This program of the Ten Oaks Project offers youth a safe space to be themselves, learn from each other, and try new things, while recognizing and developing their strengths as leaders.

Georgia Innocence Project

The mission of the Georgia Innocence Project (GIP) is to free the wrongly prosecuted in Georgia through DNA testing, to advance practices that minimize the chances that others suffer the same fate, to educate the public that wrongful convictions are not isolated or rare events, and to help the exonerated rebuild their lives.

Georgia Justice Project

Georgia Justice Project strengthens our community by demonstrating a better way to represent and support individuals in the criminal justice system and reduce barriers to reentry. GJP promotes innovative change through direct legal representation, policy advocacy, education and coalition building.
