First Call For Help Of Itasca County Is A Private, Nonprofit Community Organization Whose Mission Is To Provide Free, Confidential And Nonjudgement Crisis Intervention, Active Listening, And Information And Referral Services 24 Hours A Day, 365 Days A Year, To The Residents And Agencies Of North Central Minnesota.

City with Dwellings: A Community First Initiative (CwD), works to end the crisis of homelessness in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County by building therapeutic, sustained community for individuals who are experiencing homelessness and persons who struggle with chronic homelessness. As a low-barrier agency, CwD understands the unique needs and circumstances homeless persons must overcome to successfully access housing, health and employment resources. By building relationships of trust and engaging the wider community, we are able to effectively facilitate a coordinated community response to help house individuals and reduce recidivism.

Community First, founded by concerned Saskatoon organizations including the Churches, unions, businesses and individuals, launched in 2000 to provide a "hand up" rather than a hand out to clients with a plan to get out of poverty but lacking capital. We support small business start-ups, assisting with securing financing and with mentorship; we support other organizations working to provide affordable housing or meeting other community needs; and we work with youth in need of a hand up, to develop the skills and self-confidence to take ameaningful place in society. Currently we strongly support the fundraising of Station 20 West, we run a nationally-recognized program for at-risk high school youth to provide job skills and experience and financial literacy training and are supporting a number of small business start-ups, among other initiatives. Community Economic Development with strong emphasis on social goals, in short, is our raison d'etre.

HomeFirst confronts homelessness by cultivating people's potential to find and keep safe and stable housing. We provide shelter, affordable housing, financial assistance, and a wide range of supportive services to over 5,000 people each year. We envision a community where everyone has a home.

We believe a New Testament church is a local body of baptized believers who have agreed together to worship Jesus Christ, edify the believers, evangelize the lost and minister to others. The church has two ordinances: Baptism and The Lord's Supper. Baptism symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the new life we have in Him. The Lord's Supper is a reminder of Christ's death and anticipates His Second Coming.

Our Sunday services are held year-round, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., followed by refreshments and conversation. Throughout the service, there is a dynamic program of Religious Exploration for children and youth, and childcare is available as well.
