Project Downtown Gainesville wants to spread our message of hope and compassion. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and that collective action can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy and outreach activities, our team works tirelessly each day to contribute their part to the greater good.

The Wish Project’s mission is to help families in need establish long-term residency by providing furniture, household goods, clothing, and shoes; to provide critical immediate assistance to homeless families. and victims of fire or disaster; and to support the community. We serve with a passionate team of board members, volunteers, community partners, and staff.

Project Street Vet is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit public charity that provides free veterinary care, treatment, and support to the pets of individuals experiencing homelessness and/or housing vulnerability. Project Street Vet was founded by veterinarian Dr. Kwane Stewart, who for the past decade has provided free veterinary care to pets of people experiencing homelessness – walking areas of high homelessness to seek pets and pet parents in need. Leading with compassion, kindness, and no judgements, we seek out and assist the pets and people who need it most.

Housed on a repurposed school bus, The Art Bus Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and exhibit on wheels dedicated to increasing art education, engagement and exposure. We travel to underserved communities, inviting the public on board and providing free enrichment programs designed to inspire joy, creativity and imaginative thought and action.

The Advocacy Project - A Voice for the Voiceless The Advocacy Project (AP) helps marginalized communities around the world take action against the root causes of their disempowerment in a way that benefits society as a whole and produces social change. To do this, we partner with community-based advocates who represent these communities and share their problems. Our support for partners is innovative and effective. First, we deploy Peace Fellows (experienced graduate students) to help partners tell their story, launch campaigns, and strengthen their organization: we have deployed 274 Peace Fellows since 2003, and in the process given our Fellows a unique experience. Second, we help partners to raise funds and manage their campaigns: we have raised over $2.5 million for partners, and are currently seeking funds through Global Giving for exciting projects in Nepal, Vietnam and Uganda. Third, we promote the work of partners internationally, using new methods of story-telling such as advocacy quilting: over 300 women have produced embroidered panels for our quilts, which have been shown throughout North America and Europe. Project Hope Alliance's (PHA) mission is to end the cycle of homelessness, one child at a time. PHA focuses on kids age 5 through 24, who are often 'hidden in plain sight', and provides them with the housing, educational support, and extracurricular opportunities needed to help them realize a future that is not limited by their parents' economic circumstances.

Mercy Education Project (MEP) is a female-centric space dedicated to personal growth and stability, where quality education, access to resources, encouragement, and empowerment are the vehicles for their future success. MEP believes every woman and girl has the right to boundless opportunities and resources necessary to be educated no matter their backgrounds, beliefs, or socio-economic situation.

Since 1979 Domestic Abuse Project (DAP) has served the Twin Cities' community with innovative and successful programming to end the inter-generational cycle of domestic violence. We have made it our mission to work with all affected members of the family–men, women, and children–to stop domestic violence as it occurs and prevent it in the future.

The Nepal Project is a IRS 501(c)3 corporation that performs two tasks for Nepali citizens. 1.We educate Nepali leadership in American Educational and Construction Methods. We bring them to the US for schooling and training. 2.We provide funds to purchase materials used to build schools. Nepali citizens contribute their time to provide labor and time. The Nepal Project staff oversee the use of these funds, the budgets for the materials and training as well as all accountability of the money. Through this, we gain opportunities to express the love of Jesus Christ and share the Message with Nepali citizens. We visit Nepali quasi-regularly to review our past efforts and meet with local leadership to sort out what they would like us to do next.

The Heroic Imagination Project (HIP) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that teaches people how to take effective action in challenging situations. At HIP, we translate the extensive research findings of social psychology and related fields into meaningful insights and tools that individuals can use in their everyday lives to transform negative situations and create positive change.

Beagle Freedom Project (BFP) is the world-leading animal rescue and advocacy non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of animals exploited for research and other forms of cruelty, abuse, and neglect. BFP strives to build a better, more compassionate world for both animals and humans alike through educational, legislative, and social reform.
