Peter Herchenbach Memorial Fund

The Peter J. Herchenbach Memorial Scholarship Fund is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that helps high school students that are fighting cancer or other life threatening diseases. We offer $5,000 college scholarships that support anyone whose high school experience is being overshadowed by their disease. We want to help these gallantly fighting young adults by investing in their college education.

The Fund for Educational Excellence is an independent nonprofit organization working to close the equity and opportunity gaps for all students in Baltimore City Public Schools. We believe that a strong public school system is the foundation for the health and success of Baltimore. We expand resources, identify and accelerate solutions, and recognize excellence so that all children in Baltimore City Public Schools experience an effective and equitable education.

Rider Sos Accident Fund

Our mission is to positively impact the motorcycle community through direct participation with motorcyclists, not only to provide emergency relief after an accident but additionally we aim at creating motorcycle awareness to reduce the overall number of accidents. We aim to create beneficial partnerships with other organizations to increase the reach of all parties. We are a partner in awareness and education everywhere we go. By reducing the number of motorcycle accidents collectively, we reduce the intense demand for services, allowing us to focus on the most critical in need. Through Rider SOS Accident Fund, we have established a constant source of support for riders involved in an accident. Support services include the loaning of medical equipment, helping with transportation to appointments, caring for kids or pets, and financial assistance. Our ability is only possible through community support and sponsorship. Our nonprofit organization guarantees that all funds raised locally will remain in the community to help other riders.

DYANA AFGHAN WOMEN'S FUND

Founded in 2004 by award winning author and journalist Nelofer Pazira and run entirely by volunteers DAWF sponsors basic education and skills-training classes for women who were denied the opportunity for education during years of conflict. In 2006, DAWF began funding a basic literacy program for women in a remote village in Bamiyan. 22 women, ages 18-40 enrolled in that class. The program consists of 5 levels, each 6 months in duration, and meets the requirements of the Ministry of Education. At the completion of all five levels the women will receive a diploma from the ministry that will allow them to continue their education and help them find employment. The women have currently completed their third level, and are actively sharing the skills they have learned. The cost of six months of classes is approximately $150 per student. Funds raised provide teacher salaries and locally bought books and supplies. DAWF is a Canadian Registered Charity

K-W POPPY FUND

Poppy Funds are used to provide emergency assistance which is defined as shelter, food, fuel, clothing, prescription medicine and necessary transportation for ex-service personnel and their widows/widowers. We also provide comforts for those who are hospitalized and in need. We provide bursaries to students who are children or grandchildren of Canadian ex-service persons who are in need of this assistance. We provide community medical appliances and medical research.

Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund serves United States military personnel experiencing the Invisible Wounds of War: Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS). When our Servicemen and women return from the battlefield, we help them by building world class, advanced treatment centers, providing the best TBI and PTS care, and enabling them to continue to serve on active duty or enjoy a full civilian life.

Fund For Armenian Relief

The Fund for Armenian Relief (FAR) is dedicated to improving the lives of Armenians and preparing them for the 21st century. It cares for the most vulnerable populations by providing basic needs, like food, shelter and healthcare, and brings hope and opportunity through its programs, such as educational scholarships, vocational training and research grants. FAR empowers and engages the people, thereby strengthening Armenia and Karabagh. A prosperous Homeland will be a source of pride and inspiration for future generations of Armenians worldwide.

Liberty Elementary Academic Fund

Liberty Elementary Academic Fund (L.E.A.F.) is a small school-based 501(c)3 organization that was formed in 2014 by the parents and teachers of Liberty K-5. Liberty K-5 is a Pittsburgh Public Schools Spanish Magnet on Filbert Street in the heart of Shadyside that serves about 450 students. L.E.A.F.'s goal is to organize and support events throughout the school year that engage families and teachers, fostering a positive learning environment for the children of Liberty K-5.
