The Atlantic Wildlife Institute, formerly known as Maritime Atlantic Wildlife, was established in 1996, near Sackville, New Brunswick. A provincially and federally licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility, it studies displaced wildlife to determine causes of displacement and integrates its findings with larger issues of environmental education and management. It provides young people with exceptional opportunities for experiential learning about nature. Other AWI programs include: ecological research; safe wildlife handling; consultation and response in wildlife-related emergencies.
To educate the public about South Florida’s unique culture, environment and the many species it contains, to promote healthy living, outdoor activity and to provide excellent care for sick, injured or orphaned native wildlife.
The mission of the Friends of Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge is to help shape and support the development of the Refuge. We will foster a community conservation ethic by promoting environmental and cultural awareness through public educational programs and recreational opportunities.
