My Sister's Place

“People in Transition (Alliston) Inc., “My Sister’s Place” is a not-for profit organization which provides a broad range of services designed to alleviate the consequences of violence against women and their children. “My Sister’s Place” is a 12-bed emergency shelter for women and their children who are seeking refuge from the violence in their lives. Our core services include a woman’s program, children’s program, transitional housing and support program and an outreach/legal advocacy program. All of these programs provide free and confidential support services, crisis intervention, crisis counselling, individual and group support, safety planning, referrals to community resources, advocacy around housing, legal and economic issues, and public education presentations to community partners on the issue of violence against women and children. Additionally, our Women’s Program is available to women and children seeking service on a 24 hour a day basis, 365 days per year.”

Armenian Sisters Academy, an independent Christian Armenian Day School, educates students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The school offers a comprehensive and rigorous accredited academic program which includes the study of the Armenian language, history, and culture. The Academy utilizes the Montessori Method in Pre-K and Kindergarten and incorporates Montessori philosophies in grades 1-8. The school aims at providing a safe, caring, and enriching environment based on Christian values where each child is empowered to reach his or her full potential.

We, the Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand, Indiana, are monastic women seeking God through the Benedictine tradition of community life, prayer, hospitality, and service to others. We are a volunteer organization that strives to help moms with newly-diagnosed babies with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). We provide care packages to make your stay in hospital a little easier. We also provide information and links to many resources to help you better understand HLHS. All our volunteers are moms with children who have HLHS and who understand what you are going through.

Our mission is to attack addiction ferociously with radical love through connection, which we achieve through the provision of trauma informed transitional homes for people in early recovery from Substance Use Disorder, the hosting of weekly street based outreach events in Kensington, and the provision of health education and harm reduction trainings to the public.
