Sarah Foundation

SARAH is a family of agencies, SARAH Inc., SARAH SENECA, and SARAH Tuxis, that provide programs and services for people with intellectual and other disabilities who live in Connecticut. The SARAH Foundation, Inc. is responsible for raising funds, managing the investments and coordinating all donations in accordance with the wishes of the Donors and the mission of the SARAH agencies.

The current organization is entirely volunteer. These volunteers – like the mission statement – are dedicated to improving the lives of low income or underserved cancer survivors through yoga and other modalities. Some of the team are survivors, some are yogis, some are business people but all are believers that yoga can help cancer survivors live longer, healthier and happier lives.

Workfirst Foundation

Begun in 2005 by social innovators Mr. Peter Cove and Dr. Lee Bowes of America Works, the Work First Foundation was founded on the idea that employment is the most important first step towards lifting people out of poverty. We run programs that offer job opportunities to under-served populations, conduct research based on these programs, and administer a fellowship program for young professionals interested in public policy. The foundation also engages in advocacy efforts that promote economic self-reliance for needy individuals and produces research on ways to improve access for low-income individuals' entrance to the workforce. Today, we operate in San Francisco, New York, Washington D.C. and Baltimore, conducting demonstration programs that connect disadvantaged job seekers to opportunities.
