Hong Fook means "healthy and happy" in Chinese. Founders of Hong Fook Mental Health Association began an ethno-cultural consultation-liaison service in 1978. Hong Fook was founded in 1982 and we have been funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care since then. To further our Mission and Vision, a charitable Foundation was established in 2001.

Our mission is restoring and rebuilding lives by providing compassionate, advanced, and exceptional mental health, substance abuse, and integrated healthcare solutions, available to all. The vision of the David Lawrence Center is to lead the way in transformational care so every individual can achieve what is possible.

Crossroads is a children's mental health treatment centre that provides services in the home, schools and community. The children we help often display behaviours such as fear, anxiety, sadness, aggression or depression. These are the children whose problems will impact severely and negatively both on their own lives and on the lives of others if not treated. Services may include parent support, crisis intervention, family and individual therapy, and parent effectiveness training.

CMHA Durham has a well-established history serving the Durham community since 1959. It is part of a national association founded in 1918. CMHA Durham has evolved immensely since the early beginnings in a small house with a staff of 2 and volunteers. Today as an Accredited Agency (2003, 2006, 2009)we own a building housed with a wide range of services that address the special needs of the community, such as: Community Access services Primary Care and Nursing services Housing and Case Management services Health Promotion and Public Relations Rehabilitation and Employment services Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT) Community Treatment Order (CTO) services Corporate services CMHA Durham is governed by a Volunteer Board of Directors with an interest in mental health issues. The board is comprised of individuals from a variety of backgrounds.

Our mission is to provide peer supporters of various health and disability related populations with tools and resources needed to improve the overall health and wellness of our fellow peers. We promote the value of peer support in the community and workplace by means of advocacy, education, research and service.

Rainbow Heights Club provides a safe place for LGBTQ+ people living with severe mental illness find the support they need to continue on their path to recovery. All CAB programs and services can be accessed free of charge to the client. The RHC program serves 50+ people per day and is open five days/evenings per week; We offer over 25 support and activity groups weekly, as well as a free afternoon meal for participants in the days activities.

This is accomplished through support counselling, skill development and social/recreational programs.

Children reach school unable to learn because of emotional disturbance, dropout fall into drugs, gangs, crime, are lost of themselves and society. Early intervention works to help children break the cycle of violence and failure, and helps parents learn how to make safe, loving homes where their children can thrive.
