Our Vision - All people have the resources they need for mental health and full participation in community life. CMHA-Edmonton Region is a non-profit volunteer agency. It functions as a community centre promoting mental health. It works in partnership with other community agencies to educate about mental health and illness, to advocate for better conditions in the community and to help people build strong supports for community life. This is accomplished through social action, public education, direct service programs, housing and other special agency projects. The agency's operation is governed by the Mental Health Act, the Health Information Act, the Freedom of Information and Privacy Protection Act, the Companies Act, the Protections of Persons in Care Act and the Personal Information Protection Act.

Friends for Mental Health (West Island)

Friends for Mental Health, is a bilingual, grass-root self-help community group for families of people with a mental illness. Created 25 years ago by parents of mentally ill persons, our association is the only one in our area offering direct support to these families. Our purpose is to provide practical information, education, supportive counseling, group support, and respite to help families better cope with their situation. We also work to educate the community at large about mental illness and help them to understand how it affects them and their loved ones. We are an integral player in the delivery of mental health services within the community and work collaboratively with other mental health agencies. In addition, we are a pivotal force for getting ill people into treatment, referrals and follow-up services given by other organizations and institutions.

Addiction and Mental Health Services - KFLA

Frontenac Community Mental Health and Addiction Services is a non-profit private corporation which offers a continuum of services in Frontenac County for people with a serious mental health and/or addiction illness. It was established in 1976 and has grown steadily over the years from primarily an affordable housing program to a full service agency. The clients, staff and members of the Board of Directors work as a community to offer quality services with an emphasis on psychosocial rehabilitation principles and practices. Frontenac Community Mental Health and Addiction Services has again achieved accreditation in May 2014 Accreditation Canada.

Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care

Located 150 km from Toronto, on the shores of Georgian Bay in historic Penetanguishene, Waypoint is a 301-bed mental health hospital, providing an extensive range of acute and longer-term psychiatric inpatient and outpatient services. In addition, Waypoint is proud to be an official University of Toronto teaching hospital and academic research centre. The hospital has additional academic partnerships with 40 other post secondary institutions, hospitals and organizations. Waypoint is the region’s only specialty mental health hospital and the province’s only maximum secure forensic mental health hospital. At Waypoint, researchers, clinicians and health care professionals collaborate within our innovative and transformative environment to advance understanding and improve lives.

CANADIAN MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION PEI DIVISION

The Canadian Mental Health Association/PEI Division is a volunteer and community-based organization that began its work on Prince Edward Island as a division of CMHA National in 1959. CMHA/PEI’s programs and services are delivered throughout the province. There are self-esteem and suicide prevention programs within most schools; mental health education sessions and seminars are delivered across the Island; resource libraries are located in three communities; there are three Clubhouse Programs which provide employment, residential, education and pre-vocational opportunities to people with mental illness and there is a White Cross program providing social and recreational activities for adults experiencing mental and emotional disorders.

CANADIAN MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION, NIAGARA BRANCH

CMHA has been part of the health care delivery system of this community for over 45 years. CMHA Niagara is an amalgamation of two former Branches, Niagara South and St Catharines. As a charter of the Canadian Mental Health Association, the CMHA Niagara Branch is part of a national network of 135 service providers, 33 of which are in Ontario.

CMHA Kelowna provides a wide range of services and supports to those who are experiencing mental illness and their families. One of our core objectives is to promote and create innovative programs and supports that contribute to the recovery, secondary prevention, empowerment and community integration of people with mental illness in our community. Our programs are centered around the notion of assisting individuals to build their skills necessary to manage their mental health and to learn about services and supports that are available to them. Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services

Woodview Children's Centre is an accredited children's mental health centre that provides a comprehensive range of services for children and youth and their families. We operate a variety of programs to meet community needs in Brant, Halton, and Hamilton. We are a not for profit charitable corporation administered by a Board of Directors and funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. We provide service to children, youth and their families with social, emotional, psychological and/or psychiatric difficulties. Woodview also provides services to children, youth and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Asperger's Syndrome.
