Jewish Community Free Clinic

Drawing on Jewish traditions of Tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (repairing the world) we offer free health care services to anyone in need, without regard to religion. We offer an atmosphere of respect, empowerment and partnership with our patients, and strive to assist them in attaining full health and well-being.

Food For Free Committees

Food For Free improves access to healthy food within our community by rescuing food that would otherwise go to waste, strengthening the community food system, and creating new distribution channels to reach underserved populations. We envision a future where everyone in our community—regardless of age, income or ability—has consistent access to fresh, healthy, delicious food.

HEBREW FREE LOAN ASSOCIATION

Since 1911 we have been serving the community by providing interest-free loans to individuals to cover basis needs, improve the quality of life and help achieve financial independence. The merit of applications is determined by our loan committee. Repayments are via monthly installments commencing one month after the loan is granted. Endorsers are required except for certain small loans granted under special circumstances. All loans are documented by a promissory note.

Dance To Be Free

Dance To Be Free (DTBF) is a 501(c)3 that is changing the lives of incarcerated women through the healing power of collective dance. Through our DVD and Teacher-Training program, DTBF uses cathartic choreography and emotional music as the healing vehicles for addressing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder symptoms. During our teacher training inmates gain confidence as they experience leadership skills for perhaps the first time in their lives. As the training progresses their self-awareness increases through emotionally expressive movement. Our students also respond to journal prompts throughout the training that deepen their experience.

FREE FOR ALL FOUNDATION

Free for All Foundation’s vision is of communities where children who are at risk of losing their way to a productive adulthood can easily find and participate in programs designed to keep them on track. No child who wants help and guidance will be turned away from our programs or support. If we cannot provide adequate support we will help to facilitate appropriate supports for each child who seeks our direction. We believe that every child, regardless of circumstances, has the right to the assistance of others in building a life that includes academic and social support to complete school, skill development for the dignity of being able to perform meaningful work, encouragement to reach for their dreams and the ability to earn the respect of others.

Drug Free Kids Canada

The Partnership for a Drug Free Canada (PDFC) is a registered charity comprising volunteer private-sector lead partners from major media, advertising, production, research and corporate sectors. Modeled after similar organizations in the U.S.A. and Latin America, our reason d’être is: To prevent kids from using illicit drugs and from abusing prescription drugs. We will do so by... Educating Canadian kids and their parents on the negative effects of using illicit drugs and misusing prescription drugs. Just like using seat belts has now been ingrained in everyone’s habits and drinking and driving has become socially unacceptable, we must educate youth and their parents that the use of drugs is destructive and a threat to health and well-being. The PDFC is the only Canadian entity, to undertake this potentially ground-breaking massive and ongoing drug prevention education media campaign.
