The mission of the Alcott Center for Mental Health Services (Alcott) is to enhance the quality of life, promote independence and empower individuals living with mental illness to live productive and meaningful lives. The Alcott Center provides high quality treatment and supportive services within a caring, respectful community. The Alcott Center for Mental Health Services has been on the forefront of community mental health services since 1979, meeting the needs of community members who have little to no income and would not otherwise have access to the care they require. In addition to therapy, case and medication management, crisis interventions, trauma-informed studio art classes, the Alcott Center for Mental Health Services also provides supportive housing for people navigating mental health challenges and/or justice-involved reintegration.

Friends for Mental Health (West Island)

Friends for Mental Health, is a bilingual, grass-root self-help community group for families of people with a mental illness. Created 25 years ago by parents of mentally ill persons, our association is the only one in our area offering direct support to these families. We also work to educate the community at large about mental illness and help them to understand how it affects them and their loved ones. Addiction and Mental Health Services - KFLA

Frontenac Community Mental Health and Addiction Services is a non-profit private corporation which offers a continuum of services in Frontenac County for people with a serious mental health and/or addiction illness. It was established in 1976 and has grown steadily over the years from primarily an affordable housing program to a full service agency. The clients, staff and members of the Board of Directors work as a community to offer quality services with an emphasis on psychosocial rehabilitation principles and practices. Frontenac Community Mental Health and Addiction Services has again achieved accreditation in May 2014 Accreditation Canada.

In addition, Waypoint is proud to be an official University of Toronto teaching hospital and academic research centre. The hospital has additional academic partnerships with 40 other post secondary institutions, hospitals and organizations. Waypoint is the region’s only specialty mental health hospital and the province’s only maximum secure forensic mental health hospital. At Waypoint, researchers, clinicians and health care professionals collaborate within our innovative and transformative environment to advance understanding and improve lives.

CANADIAN MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION PEI DIVISION

The Canadian Mental Health Association/PEI Division is a volunteer and community-based organization that began its work on Prince Edward Island as a division of CMHA National in 1959. CMHA/PEI’s programs and services are delivered throughout the province. There are self-esteem and suicide prevention programs within most schools; mental health education sessions and seminars are delivered across the Island; resource libraries are located in three communities; there are three Clubhouse Programs which provide employment, residential, education and pre-vocational opportunities to people with mental illness and there is a White Cross program providing social and recreational activities for adults experiencing mental and emotional disorders.
