Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation

The mission of VONA is to develop emerging writers of color through programs and workshops taught by established writers of color. VONA's values are a commitment to artistic excellence, social justice, and empowering the community of writers of color. In VONA’s multi-genre workshops, developing writers of color: explore their craft in an atmosphere of support and understanding. learn from the teaching and writing of established writers of color. are empowered to write about their experiences as people of color. VONA is the only writers' conference in the country with a multi-genre focus on writers of color as students and teachers. Voices of Our Nation Arts Foundation (VONA) was founded by Elmaz Abinader, Junot Díaz, Victor Díaz and Diem Jones in 1999. Each envisioned an arts organization that could change the landscape for writers of color by supporting individual writer growth, creating a platform for community engagement and providing a workshop and mentor focus to expand writing opportunities. Over 2,000 writers from around the globe have participated in VONA. VONA now makes its home at the University of Miami at Coral Gables and offers workshops in fiction, poetry, memoir, political content, LGBTQ narrative, travel writing, playwriting and a residency. VONA also hosts a free faculty reading, supports alumni events in cities across the country, provides an online forum for literary opportunities and launches community writing programs and events.

Developing Nations Social Help Charitable Corporation

We fulfill this mission by: Providing food and other basic amenities to persons in need. Establishing, operating and maintaining Orphanages, Elementary and High Schools, and Training facilities for persons in need. Improving the quality of drinking water by constructing wells and water treatment, irrigation and sewage treatment systems. Developing and promoting public health by establishing, operating and maintaining Medical Clinics, for the purpose of educating and instructing the public on the prevention of, and curative measures for health problems.

The Tibet Relief Fund of the United Kingdom

Tibet Relief Fund works to empower Tibetans to build sustainable communities and better futures through education and innovative practical grassroots initiatives. There are currently around 150,000 Tibetans living in exile, since the first wave of refugees fled their homes in 1959 to escape China's occupation. Tibetans still living inside Tibet are marginalised and denied fundamental rights, with their religious beliefs, cultural identity and ways of life under serious threat. Tibetan refugees living in settlements in India and Nepal have limited access to healthcare, education or work opportunities. This makes it difficult for them to build sustainable livelihoods and develop their communities, and leaves them vulnerable to crises. Tibetans, like anybody else, should be able to live and work with equality and security, and celebrate their rich culture and traditions. That's why we're here.

Friends of United Hatzalah

Our mission is to support the lifesaving activities of United Hatzalah and Israelife, Israel's volunteer emergency response umbrella organization. United Hatzalah is the largest independent, non-profit, nationally recognized and fully-volunteer emergency medical services (EMS) organization in Israel. United Hatzalah's cadre of 5,000 medics, paramedics, and doctors create a web of emergency first responders, each connected to a proprietary GPS-based dispatch system which, together with our nimble motorcycle ambulances ("ambucycles"), provides lifesaving aid faster than any other EMS organization in the world, absolutely free of charge, 24/7.
