About This Fundraiser

Welcome to "Pedal for Progress: A Ride to DC for Change," a unique fundraiser where passion meets purpose.

From April 10th thru April 14th, I will be embarking on a 500-mile bicycle journey from North Scituate, RI, to Washington, DC. This is not just a ride; it's a mission to support two vital causes amidst challenging times. With each pedal stroke, I aim to raise funds for the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) and the Transgender Law Center (TLC), organizations that are steadfast in their commitment to environmental preservation and trans rights advocacy.

The National Parks Conservation Association is dedicated to protecting and enhancing America's National Parks for the enjoyment and bewonderment of present and future generations. Their mission resonates deeply in a time when environmental rollbacks threaten these treasured landscapes that belong to all of us. Meanwhile, the Transgender Law Center, the largest national trans-led organization, is at the forefront of changing laws, policies, and attitudes to ensure that everyone, irrespective of their gender identity or expression, can live freely and authentically. Grounded in legal expertise and a commitment to racial justice, TLC empowers communities to fight for their rights and for liberation.

We live in an era where right-wing policies have chipped away at substantial progress in both environmental and social justice realms. The current administration has rolled back numerous protections, leaving our national parks vulnerable and LGBTQ+ rights at risk. My bike ride isn't just about endurance—it's about taking a stand and refusing to let these setbacks deter us from striving for a more inclusive and sustainable future.

Your support for "Pedal for Progress" means standing alongside organizations that work tirelessly for the people and places we cherish. Funds raised will be evenly distributed between NPCA and TLC, fueling their critical work in safeguarding our national heritage and protecting marginalized communities. With your help, we can pedal towards change, fighting against regression and for a more equitable world. Let's harness our collective power, driving change with every mile to ensure our parks and our people are protected for generations to come.
