Catalyzing Native Youth Ridership!

In partnership with Gallup McKinley County Schools (GMCS) School Counselors and Social Workers, Silver Stallion is providing after-school, coach-mentored DEVO (development) mountain bike rides throughout the Navajo Nation and Gallup. In this support of mental health specialists,  DEVO rides take place in a safe, courageous atmosphere built on trusted relationships for both students and coach volunteers to explore mountain biking. DEVO builds foundational skills, lifelong relationships to the bike, landscape and one's own agency and sense of efficacy to literally move forward within life's opportunities.

We're excited to share what's now getting to be a long history of our DEVO (development) after (middle) school ride program expanding with the Gallup McKinley County School system. This program,  in partnership with the SW/Counselors and mental health specialists, has become our strongest, most impactful programming and the heart of organization.  Now gaining GMCS "Club" status, DEVO has grown to 4 middle schools on Navajo Nation and soon another 4 in the Gallup area. GMCS is largest  native student body school district in the United States – and we're ridding bikes!

Please have read below (and click on the IN THE DIRT documentary film trailer on YouTube) to see all to which many have already contributed to and continue on the ride! Thank you all for the support that has brought us here to a tipping point!

Ahexhee, thank you, from the Stallion Crew, kids and families
