Did you know the world wastes 1/3 of food produced for human consumption? While 800 million people face food insecurity and lack access to a healthy meal with dignity and community. Food waste goes far beyond climate impact, it is a waste of natural resources like water and energy.
What can you do? A large portion of wasted food comes from home kitchens and is 100% preventable. A little creativity, culinary technique and good purchasing habits can make a huge difference.
That is why the third season of "Why Waste?" presented by Fine Dining Lovers and San Pellegrino is dedicated to helping you take action to stop wasting and start saving. Just 4 simple steps: Create, Take, Share, Show your favorite zero waste recipe. Promote your recipe on social media and get the chance to be added to this seasons' Why Waste Digital Cookbook. And the most important part? Help us SUPPORT Food for Soul's mission by DONATING YOUR DISH. Your contribution supports the Refettorio Sustainability Fund, already saving more than 670 tonnes of food from waste and providing 1.23 mil nourishing meals to those facing hunger and isolation. Refettorio Chefs will be contributing their recipes and part of the final selection of which recipes will make the cookbook cut.
