Save The Turtles

Save the Turtles, Inc. is dedicated to protecting sea turtles in critical habitat areas by awarding grants to community-based programs, assisting with salaries for the locals who patrol the beach at night protecting nesting turtles from poachers. Our organization is small and we are all volunteers, so our donations we receive are streamlined to worthy conservation projects, mostly in Costa Rica although we have financially assisted in the rescue of sea turtles in emergency situations such as the BP oil spill in the U.S. We value the donor’s intent—the money designated to saving sea turtles--and believe in a minimal overhead/administrative cost.

Idaho Rivers United

IRU was founded in 1990 to protect Idaho's wild rivers and fish. IRU believes healthy rivers and ecosystems are critical to Idaho's communities. We build grassroots campaigns around public policy issues raised by hydropower dams, fisheries restoration, water policy and watershed management. We are watchdogs, advocates, organizers and public opinion leaders in local, state and national river campaigns. For all who love the adventure, solitude and freedom of Idaho's wild country, IRU is the vigorous defender of Idaho's wild rivers and fish. We provide effective leadership to keep our free-flowing rivers from being dammed and to restore Idaho's wild salmon and steelhead.

Big Dawgs Rescue Inc

Big Dawgs Rescue was founded in May 2009 by Joanne Rivero, and is run entirely by volunteers. They are a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless and abandoned pets by placing them into loving forever homes. Although they still focus on large breed dogs, they have expanded their efforts to include pets of all shapes and sizes. Once in their rescue, animals live in real homes with foster families rather than in cages, and are shown the love and attention many of them have never known. The sick are made healthy, and those with behavioral issues stemming from neglect or abuse are shown compassion and understanding as they learn to trust again. They are against breed discrimination, and they believe it is their mission to educate the public about how proper pet ownership can make any breed of dog into a loving family member.

Utah Animal Advocacy Foundation

The Utah Animal Advocacy Foundation (UAAF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization specializing in the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of homeless animals. We specialize in the rescue and rehabilitation of 'special needs' animals including orphaned newborns, senior animals, animals with behavioral issues, injured animals, and animals with ongoing health problems. Since our founding in September 2002, we have successfully placed hundreds of these deserving animals into loving homes.

Keeper Of The Wild Wildlife Rehabilitation

The mission of Keeper of the Wild is to rescue and rehabilitate native local wildlife of South Carolina with the goal of returning them back to the wild. We believe every creature is part of nature's plan for the web of life; that each has a purpose to fulfill in that plan toward keeping this earth a balanced and healthy place where all life can live. We do not advocate keeping wild animals as pets. We encourage the public in the responsibility to work in cooperation with nature to protect and care for this earth which is the home for all life, and to enjoy as observers and appreciate the wildlife with which we share our environment. We strive to educate the public about the wildlife we save and the contributions of each to our own quality of life and the importance of coexisting with wildlife in our environments. We serve nine counties in lower South Carolina

Eyes, Ears, Nose And Paws

We seek to increase the supply and specialties of highly-trained Assistance Dogs available to meet the challenges, particularly medical challenges, encountered by individuals and our society as a whole. Our Service Dog program provides trained assistance dogs to individuals with mobility impairments for the purpose of increasing the recipients' independence. Our Medical Detection Dog program provides Diabetic Assistance Dogs to individuals with diabetes for the purpose of improving each individual's healthcare. Our programs are "open-source" and we are committed to freely sharing what we learn through our work. We do this because we believe that sharing ideas, techniques, and research will encourage innovation, growth and high standards in the Assistance Dog industry, ultimately benefiting both clients and their dogs far more than a narrower focus on our organization would.

Speak For The Unspoken

SPEAK! for the Unspoken is a registered 501(c)(3) pet rescue located in the Columbus, Ohio area. We are a 100% foster-based rescue, devoted to special needs animal rescue and education. We focus our rescue efforts on special needs dogs and cats, double merle dogs born with vision and/or hearing deficits due to poor breeding practices. We believe special needs dogs can live happy and healthy lives, and until the careless breeding stops, we will continue to find these special dogs the homes they deserve. We see possibilities, not disabilities. We adopted our motto “special needs and good deeds” to incorporate all the animals outside of the ‘special needs’ category that we are able to help. We are a foster based rescue so all of the animals in our program are living and cared for in a home.

Candys Cats

Candy's Cats is a not-for-profit, no-kill cat rescue incorporated in 2005. We are a 501(c)(3) organization with a simple mission - saving cats. We're a no-kill rescue based in Central Florida with foster homes across four counties. We take in these beautiful, transient creatures and do our very best to provide them with safety, medical care, and LOVE. We have saved thousands of cats. While we openly take in stray cats and kittens who are in good shape, our focus is on saving those who are most likely not saved without our help. Each cat is tested for feline aids/feline leukemia, provided with age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered (we believe in kitten spay/neuter); micro-chipped and they are all treated for medical conditions they each are diagnosed with while in our care.

HALIFAX HUMANE SOCIETY INC

The Halifax Humane Society exists to protect animals from cruel, neglectful, and exploitative treatment. It is the belief of Society that all living creatures possess an intrinsic value, which is manifested in its creation. Further, the Society believes that mankind must become a responsible steward of animals which he has domesticated and brought under his control. The Society shall maintain programs and services, which embrace that principle: Maintain a shelter facility to provide for the needs of lost, forsaken, and abandoned animals; Educate and continually acquaint the citizens, particularly children, with the ethics of kindness and compassion, thereby engendering respect for all living beings; Investigate complaints of animal abuse and correct those situations by way of education, or if need be prosecution; Prevent the overpopulation of domestic animals by providing affordable spay and neuter opportunities to the public, while making certain that animals adopted from the Shelter never contribute to the problem.
