Crenshaw Dairy Mart

Just south of Manchester and off of Crenshaw stands tall a former dairy mart, home to an artist collective and art gallery dedicated to shifting the trauma-induced conditions of poverty and economic injustice, bridging cultural work and advocacy, and investigating ancestries through the lens of Inglewood and its community. What these Black and transnational identities seek is an imagination of new collective memory through programming, events, and arts installations which cultivate and nurture communal arts and education. The Crenshaw Dairy Mart emerges from an investment in abolition, modes of accessibility in art practice, and weaving community solidarity through new memories.

We are helping people near the frontlines and in recently liberated areas. We are also helping hospitals and orphan homes. During the first 12 months of the full-scale war we helped over 50,000 people with direct cash payments, food, medicine, heat, and transportation and clothes.

Three Bone Theatre

Three Bone Theatre is Charlotte's home for the best of adult contemporary theatre. We believe that great theatre can be a catalyst for conversation and change in our community. Our business philosophy stems from the Reba McEntire quote, “To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a back bone, and a funny bone.” Our mission is to create a performing arts experience that is socially engaged, professionally managed, and creatively inspired. As a local arts organization, we feel strongly about supporting other local groups. We partner with a different local organization for each production with the hope of raising awareness to the unique themes present in each production and the commendable work that is being done in Charlotte.

Benjamin West Society

The Benjamin West Society is a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation that seeks to preserve the memory of the father of American painting, Benjamin West, by connecting the various sites linked to West in suburban Philadelphia, his birthplace and the area institutions that preserve and display his works. We hope to make his childhood home at the Square Tavern in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, a focal point for remembering the artist. We are commissioning a life-sized statue to be placed on the Tavern grounds showing the young West. We have exhibits inside the Tavern that promote his life and career. We hope that by promoting the life and works and local ties of Benjamin West we create an economic engine for preserving the Tavern building and site.

Austin Zoo

Austin Zoo assists animals in need through rescue, rehabilitation and education. Austin Zoo is a private, non-profit "rescue zoo" that is home to over 300 animals. Austin Zoo is a nationally recognized animal rescue facility. Most of the animals at Austin Zoo were confiscated, abandoned, strays, unwanted, neglected and had nowhere else to go. Unfortunately, we must turn away many animals for lack of space (enclosures). We refer these animals to other reputable facilities but most are also full. We have additional land on which to expand and will be doing so in the next several years. We also provide educational opportunities for schools, colleges and universities and youth groups.

Dandelion Dancetheater

Dandelion Dancetheater is situated at the crossroads of dance, theater, music, community activism, healing, and new performance forms. The company is committed to the individual and intersecting artistic visions of Kimiko Guthrie and Eric Kupers. Our work is built from a fascination with interdisciplinary experimentation, in-depth collaboration, vulnerability, risk-taking, and the truths that come from looking at the world from an “outsider” perspective. We view the exploration of the endless possibilities of the human body as a potent means for personal and collective growth and share this exploration with diverse populations through performance, teaching, speaking, community events, video, and writing. As an organization, Dandelion Dancetheater is a launching pad and creative home for several ongoing, in-depth projects. Most projects involve multiple branches of Dandelion, and so stretch across categories.
