We carry out collaborative biocultural projects that build resilience, foster innovation and promote learning. Our work contributes to the growing global transition towards justice, respect and dignity for all beings.At the grassroots, through our regional programmes, we support communities as they improve their livelihoods while respecting environmental processes and make autonomous, informed decisions regarding their lands, resources and futures. At the global scale, we strengthen the knowledge, networking and communication skills of emerging environmental changemakers

We believe that by working together, residents can improve the social, economic and physical conditions of their community. Since its inception in 1993, BT has united thousands of people around multiple community issues, including housing, education, healthcare, safety, city services, and youth programming. Our goals are to: increase the community's capacity to take action to address important issues; challenge members to develop skills to advocate for their community and themselves; address the root causes of poverty and inequality in the community; create neighborhood stability by ensuring that needed resources are invested in the community; and include all people regardless of class, race, age, ethnicity, gender, disability, religion, or sexual orientation.

The Movimento de Saude Mental Comunitaria do Bom Jardim (MSMCBJ) was initiated in 1996 as part of the outreach of the Comboni Missionaries in the Northeast of Brazil. MSMCBJ seeks to improve the lives of the people of the economically impoverished peripheral regions of Fortaleza, primarily the area of Grande Bom Jardim. To imagine a mental health project in a peripheral neighborhood like Bom Jardim, where the majority of people live in at-risk circumstances - in which extreme poverty, violence, a lack of housing and basic sanitation, street children, and unemployment predominate - is to believe that, even within pain and suffering, we can harvest flowers. That is, personal and social realities can be transformed. The challenge that MSMCBJ has been overcoming throughout its years of community action has been to demonstrate that, through the Community Systemic Approach, working with people's self-esteem results in greater self-awareness, which empowers people to create paths of liberation, thanks to the sense of participation and co-responsibility that MSMCBJ activities favor. The China California Heart Watch brings together experts from the United States, China, and around the world. Together, we use innovative and sustainable methods to combat the growing epidemic of heart disease in Yunnan Province, China. Our overarching mission is to serve the people of Yunnan through: (1) Training local healthcare professionals in the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease; (2) Improving access to high-quality healthcare and life-saving treatments; (3) Researching the epidemiology of heart disease, the effectiveness of our interventions, and other topics of critical value to rural Chinese populations. The activities of the China California Heart Watch generate no profits. We operate solely through the generosity and vision of our donors, foundations, and granting agencies. The Broken Arrow Band Booster Club is comprised of hundreds of dedicated and talented adults who work toward a common goal of providing life-changing experiences for their children. The Broken Arrow Band Program with the assistance of the Band Booster Club annually hosts world-class events to support the program. The Broken Arrow bands enjoy rich traditions and great support from parents, school administrators and the community. Each student, instructor and parent volunteer in the organization understands that they are but temporary stewards of the program and as such, they must diligently protect what has been entrusted to them. They firmly believe it is the journey that make the difference and the growth attained through the process is more important that any product that may result.

Statement Junky is a youth development and global leadership program for girls of color in High School. We create a safe and inspiring space for girls to thrive and build lifelong relationships while focusing on the development of the whole girl. In partnership with schools and community-based organizations, our program equips girls to navigate economic and social barriers within their community and abroad through leadership, education, exploration, and positive identity development. At the conclusion of each program, all girls are gifted with an essential key to access the world – her first passport. We believe travel is not reward for working but experience for living. We’re devoted to creating future world leaders by changing the way our girls see the world.

ProJeCt of Easton, Inc.’s mission is to “build a better community by helping people help themselves” and education is key. We prepare people to succeed in work, school, and life by giving them the skills, knowledge, and support needed to break the cycle of poverty and achieve their goals. ProJeCt believes that education is the key to helping economically and educationally disadvantaged adults and children in the Lehigh Valley. Our school and workforce preparation services address the alarming poverty and low-literacy rates in the region by teaching clients the skills needed to succeed as a contributing member of society, whether in work, school, or as a citizen. All our programs are free, located in Easton, Pennsylvania, and are open to residents of the greater Lehigh Valley.

IMANI HOUSE's mission is to assist low-income youth, families, and immigrants to create viable neighborhoods where residents are decision makers who take responsibility for the improvement of their lives and surroundings. This is achieved through programs that provide Youth and Family Support Services Including Health Care, Health Education, Adult Literacy, and Information and Referral Services. Founded in Liberia W. Africa Imani House believes that anyone can achieve success and a higher quality of life if only they have access to appropriate information, skills and opportunities. Our programs in Liberia and Brooklyn use a bottom-up approach where grassroots people are recruited as trainers and employees and run our programs within their own communities.
