Trio Uganda works to the principles of Asset-Based Community Development, supporting small, registered community organisations in Uganda that are driven by the commitment, knowledge and experience of local people. Our partners are truly grassroots initiatives, addressing complex and challenging issues with very limited resources. Trio Uganda believes that small organisations rooted in their communities can effect real and sustainable change.

Bamyan Foundation is a registered non-profit, non-partisan and an all-volunteer section 501(c)(3) charity in the Washington DC area. The Kakenya Center for Excellence seeks to empower and motivate young girls through education to become agents of change and to break the cycle of destructive cultural practices in Maasai Kenya such as female genital cutting and early forced marriage. We believe in impacting one girl at a time, one community at a time, until all girls in Africa have the opportunities they need to thrive as individuals. Friends of African Village Libraries is committed to long-term management of and support for small community libraries in rural Africa. Our goal is to establish long-term relationships with community libraries, rather than provide an initial donation and move on to another village. We believe that every child and adult should have the opportunity to pick up a book and read, so we are dedicated to increasing access to reading material and other information in rural villages in sub-Saharan Africa.
