Transform children's lives, inspiring and preparing communities to build brighter futures

More than twenty years ago, four college students asked each other: What if we could offer children from under-resourced communities individualized attention before they enter kindergarten, giving them the critical academic and social skills—the ‘jumpstart’—they need to succeed? The idea took hold and today Jumpstart has trained more than 45,000 college students and community volunteers, preparing nearly 100,000 children for kindergarten success. Jumpstart’s program is replicated across the country in 14 states and the District of Columbia. We leverage partnerships with higher education institutions, community organizations, Head Start programs, community-based preschools, and school districts to create sustainable solutions in order to close the kindergarten readiness gap.

The aim of Dedal has been to establish an art centre where children from disadvantaged backgrounds can overcome social isolation by developing their skills and talents. Dedal provides free classes in the art and sciences for children from orphanages, single-parent families, and foster families, as well as for children with minor disabilities. In addition to free access, the centre provides the diverse social environment necessary for promoting social integration. During their regular visits to Dedal, children work actively with professional artists and build lasting friendships with kids from diverse family backgrounds. Apart from participating in classes, the children enjoy multiple opportunities to present their achievements at public exhibitions. In addition to the association's prominent role as a diver of cultural and social development, and its political independence, Dedal is made unique by the voluntary service of all of its staff members

Charity Centre for Children and Youth Development exists to supporting HIV/AIDS education, Persons living with disabilities, orphans and vulnerable children, youth and women in Solwezi district of Zambia by providing them with, educational support (provision of school requisites and literacy materials), health and life skills and vocational Training. These enables disadvantaged members of our society live life of independence and contribute to the national economy. IRODA seeks to draw on knowledge and information provided through a range of interventions developed for working with children with ASD, and uses an eclectic approach rather than advocating for one particular model of intervention The rights of all people to be included as valued members of society drives IRODA to advocate for both legislation and community attitudes that will support people with ASD to be fully included within their local communities. IRODA aims for all it's activities to be community based and seeks to cooperate with individuals and organizations in local communities.
