Silent Heroes Foundation (SHF) believes in the One Health philosophy, whereby humans and animals are intricately connected to their environment. This is most especially true where we operate, in the developing world. With One Health in mind, SHF is committed to enhance both animal and human well-being in Africa, as well as to aid in the protection and conservation of its wildlife and endangered species. This is achieved through supporting the work of veterinarians & conservationists in Africa, through the implementation of innovative conservation and mitigation of human-wildlife conflict, & through research and education initiatives with a focus at the interface between humans, domestic animals, and wildlife.

At the Center for Biological Diversity, we believe that the welfare of human beings is deeply linked to nature — to the existence in our world of a vast diversity of wild animals and plants. Because diversity has intrinsic value, and because its loss impoverishes society, we work to secure a future for all species, great and small, hovering on the brink of extinction. We do so through science, law and creative media, with a focus on protecting the lands, waters and climate that species need to survive. We want those who come after us to inherit a world where the wild is still alive.

The Regional Parks Foundation supports the East Bay Regional Park District through fundraising to provide universal access, environmental stewardship, educational and recreational programs and the acquisition of parklands.At the Regional Parks Foundation we believe connections with nature are critical for leading a healthy, balanced life. Every day, we provide resources to ensure underserved populations have equal access to nature through the East Bay Regional Park District's parks, trails, programs and services. Global Diversity Foundation believes that our future depends on our respectful engagement with the vast biological and cultural diversity of Earth. We work to protect this diversity and enhance socioecological wellbeing. We carry out collaborative biocultural projects that build resilience, foster innovation and promote learning. Our work contributes to the growing global transition towards justice, respect and dignity for all beings.At the grassroots, through our regional programmes, we support communities as they improve their livelihoods while respecting environmental processes and make autonomous, informed decisions regarding their lands, resources and futures. At the global scale, we strengthen the knowledge, networking and communication skills of emerging environmental changemakers

The Movimento de Saude Mental Comunitaria do Bom Jardim (MSMCBJ) was initiated in 1996 as part of the outreach of the Comboni Missionaries in the Northeast of Brazil. MSMCBJ seeks to improve the lives of the people of the economically impoverished peripheral regions of Fortaleza, primarily the area of Grande Bom Jardim. To imagine a mental health project in a peripheral neighborhood like Bom Jardim, where the majority of people live in at-risk circumstances - in which extreme poverty, violence, a lack of housing and basic sanitation, street children, and unemployment predominate - is to believe that, even within pain and suffering, we can harvest flowers. That is, personal and social realities can be transformed. The challenge that MSMCBJ has been overcoming throughout its years of community action has been to demonstrate that, through the Community Systemic Approach, working with people's self-esteem results in greater self-awareness, which empowers people to create paths of liberation, thanks to the sense of participation and co-responsibility that MSMCBJ activities favor. IMANI HOUSE's mission is to assist low-income youth, families, and immigrants to create viable neighborhoods where residents are decision makers who take responsibility for the improvement of their lives and surroundings. This is achieved through programs that provide Youth and Family Support Services Including Health Care, Health Education, Adult Literacy, and Information and Referral Services. Founded in Liberia W. Africa Imani House believes that anyone can achieve success and a higher quality of life if only they have access to appropriate information, skills and opportunities. Our programs in Liberia and Brooklyn use a bottom-up approach where grassroots people are recruited as trainers and employees and run our programs within their own communities.

TennGreen Land Conservancy (formerly the Tennessee Parks & Greenways Foundation) is an accomplished, 501(c)(3) nonprofit land trust dedicated to protecting Tennessee’s natural treasures. Founded in 1998, we are the oldest accredited, statewide land trust in Tennessee. We serve all Tennesseans, and through collaboration with members, private landowners, local municipalities, and state and federal agencies, we work to create parks, establish wildlife corridors, expand existing protected public lands, and enhance public recreation opportunities. We believe that we must do more to protect our natural world so that future generations can enjoy the ecologically-rich, beautiful, and historically-significant treasures that make Tennessee unique.

Georgia Organics is a member supported, non-profit organization connecting organic food from Georgia farms to Georgia families. We believe food should be community-based, not commodity-based. An outgrowth of a grower’s association established in the 1970s, Georgia Organics is devoted to promoting sustainable foods and local farms in Georgia. A sustainable local food system is critical to the future of Georgia’s health, environment, and economy. Recognizing this vital need, Georgia organics builds supply through grower education and outreach, and grows demand on the consumer and business end by encouraging market opportunities for local food. We have three key goals: increase the number of organic and sustainable farmers in Georgia, increase the number of children participating in farm to school programs, and increase the number of Georgians eating local, organic food.

Our mission is to create a better future for the San Diego River through volunteerism, advocacy, education, and championing the creation of a river-long park system.We are a San Diego based 501c3 nonprofit that started as an all volunteer group and remain grounded in engaging people through volunteerism. Before the pandemic, we engaged more than 7000 volunteers. We believe in targeting our programs to make a meaningful impact for the river, its ecosystem and San Diego. Founded in 2004, Quail Springs is a leading educational non-profit that resides on a 450-acre permaculture demonstration site on the traditional homelands of the Chumash people in Cuyama Valley, California. Our mission is to empower students of all ages and backgrounds with knowledge, skills, and inspiration essential to cultivating ecological and social health in a rapidly changing world. Quail Springs teaches strategies and techniques instrumental for designing and building resilient, affordable, and carbon-neutral housing as well as ecologically sound and sovereign food systems. We are connected to an expansive local and international network of leading-edge practitioners. We envision an equitable global community that shares the bounty of this living planet and the responsibility to tend to its health. We believe the most effective way to foster positive change is through our relationships, both with one another and our ecologies.

Biosphere Expeditions is an award-winning not-for-profit conservation organisation, and a member of IUCN and the UN's Environment Programme. For us successful conservation is the collective effort of individuals. We invite everyone to join us on our wildlife and wilderness projects all over the world. Whether young or old, become a citizen scientist for one or two weeks, or more. The foundation of our work is science and local need. We focus on sustainable conservation projects that target clearly defined, critical issues that humankind has the power to change. You, our international volunteers, work hand-in-hand with local biologists and communities to drive positive outcomes for biodiversity - the creation of a protected area for snow leopards in the Altai is just one recent example. Biosphere Expeditions is a member of the IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature) and of the United Nations Environment Programme's (UNEP) Governing Council & Global Ministerial Environment Forum. Achievements include the implementation of our conservation recommendations and species protection plans by numerous national and regional governments and NGOs, the creation of protected areas on four continents, scientific and lay publications, as well as capacity-building, training and education all over the world.
