Graduate Women International (GWI), founded in 1919 as the International Federation of University (IFUW), is a worldwide, non-governmental organisation of women graduates. International Institute of Los Angeles was founded in 1914 by the YMCA to provide a variety of services to underserved populations. IILA has expanded to provide a variety of services to immigrant communities throughout the Los Angeles area. In addition to refugee resettlement and immigration services IILA provides employment and training, childcare, nutrition programs for children and adults, senior services, transportation, and youth and family services. IILA's philosophy is to assist individuals and families achieve self-sufficiently and provide community leadership to promote multicultural understanding.
