The China California Heart Watch brings together experts from the United States, China, and around the world. Together, we use innovative and sustainable methods to combat the growing epidemic of heart disease in Yunnan Province, China. Our overarching mission is to serve the people of Yunnan through: (1) Training local healthcare professionals in the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease; (2) Improving access to high-quality healthcare and life-saving treatments; (3) Researching the epidemiology of heart disease, the effectiveness of our interventions, and other topics of critical value to rural Chinese populations. The activities of the China California Heart Watch generate no profits. We operate solely through the generosity and vision of our donors, foundations, and granting agencies. D-Rev is a design engine that brings world-class health solutions to the people who need them most. Fundamentally we believe that all people deserve good health and we are in the position to design, refine, launch, implement, and track solutions that deliver quality impact. Our understanding of market dynamics and commercialization enables us to do it at scale with no additional philanthropy needed. We have achieved organizational proof of concept- with 5 products in 2 different product lines scaling via the market and over 700,000 patients treated in 71 countries. We are now tackling our biggest project- the development of a device to treat respiratory distress (a leading reason for infant mortality) in the NICU.

Founded in 2004 by a group of young professionals who believed people can make a difference, HandsOn Shanghai is an officially registered non-profit organization with the Shanghai Civil Affair Bureau since 2010. Governed by a board of 11 members, the HandsOn Shanghai volunteer platform helps to bridge the divide that exists between individuals who are looking to give back to their community and the organizations that would benefit from the support that volunteers can provide. With a primary objective of providing flexible volunteer opportunities for busy professionals and serving local charities in needs, HOS manages a big group of volunteers and a diverse range of community service projects in Shanghai Currently we engage more than 2500 volunteers each month through more than 150 local service projects. Projects that benefit the young and old through long term, committed, partnerships with more than 75 project partners. With our mission is to promote volunteerism, inspire, equip and mobilize people to take action that changes the world, we envision a world in which individuals, students, and corporate leaders are able to discover (and harness) their power to make a difference, participate as volunteers, and participants in the development of healthy, vibrant, and resilient communities.

THE BLINDNESS FOUNDATION works in Burma/Myanmar,Cambodia, Laos, the Philippines & Thailand. Our mission is: "HELP US,HELP OTHERS, HELP THEMSELVES" -working with local eye Doctors in these SE Asian countries to help prevent & cure blindness. This is achieved through education, training and mission supply for outreach cataract surgery programs to the rural & urban poor . To date for example we have over the last two decades, contributed lens implants that have been implanted in over 65,000 patients' eyes to help them see again -curing their blindness. Ongoing training and education, upgrades the knowledge and skill -sets of young Eye Doctors in training so that they can treat their own people better, without reliance on outside Ophthalmologists. This builds their health care systems closer to modern world standards. We respond to specific requests for assistance in placing young Eye Doctors in residency & Fellowship programs out of country , Also supply of anti-fungals for the Burmese fishermen with corneal infections after the Nargis Cyclone hit the Irawaddy delta region of Myanmar. Our goal is sustainable self-sufficiency for eye care in these developing nations. We have annual missions that incorporate training & lectures at university based teaching hospitals where possible to assist their development. During these missions we process requests for equipment, traing and supplies and coordinate with industry in the US to raise supplies. The core ideas that underpin the mission of Ujyalo Foundation are: Innovation, Gender Inclusive Leadership, and Social Enterprise. Based on these core ideas, Ujyalo Foundation's mission is "to empower communities through technologies, innovation, social enterprise, and gender inclusive leadership, collaboratively locally and globally". We strongly believe that the best way to create sustainable development in any community is by investing in its young women. With initiatives like EmpowHER, and Women Leadership Summit, we provide safe platforms for young women to enhance their leadership skills, explore their unique selves as leaders in their communities, and develop their ideas into potential livelihood opportunities in Nepal. These programs give women a safe space to learn and lead without any social stigma or fear of discrimination. After going through our programs, our women have become confident, independent leading their ideas in different capacities, and creating their own strong collectives of young women. After leading these initiatives for two years and working with 1600 young women, we have discovered just how much such an effort can contribute in the advancement of young women and their causes, especially in a society driven by patriarchy. We want young women in Nepal to believe that a space where young women can lead fearlessly on the basis of their merit and idea, not their gender is possible. Our vision is to create a world where young women can live, learn and lead without any prejudice and discrimination, and have men as the champions to promote women safety and leadership.

We are a foundation responding to a humanitarian crisis affecting the innocent men, women and children forced from their homes by climate change, poverty and war. We identify needs not being met and aim to fill these needs by activating our network of logistical, financial and structural partners to provide these needs thoroughly and without hesitation. In addition to providing urgent needs, our mission is to deliver a more dignified, sustainable, and innovative response to the refugee crisis in Europe. We believe that refugee camps should be more inclusive, more self-sustaining and providing refugees with a better quality of life and adaptation process to their new environments. With collaborative efforts with interested corporations, other charities, refugees, volunteers, and donations, we are activating a network that re-defines the global refugee camps.

Distinguished education academic and social commentator Dr Tony Sewell founded Generating Genius in 2005. His vision was to work with high-achieving students from disadvantaged communities throughout their secondary school careers to help them acquire the skills they need to win places at top universities. Generating Genius alumni, now undergraduates, in turn become mentors to course participants, feeding their experience back into the programmes. aThe programmes we offer are intended to be challenging,a says Dr Sewell. aThe students are expected to maintain a high standard of self-discipline, behaviour and academic performance. aWe do not believe in prizes for all. Whilst one can learn from the experience of the journey, ultimately there is often only one winner. aBy bringing together academically talented students from some of the most challenging social circumstances, our programmes are able to offer a unique educational experience, one geared both to the studentsa high abilities and to their need for peers who share their academic abilities and their love of learning. aThis is a nurturing programme where students have a sense that they are on a journey from 11 to 18. This rites-of-passage programme is based on intellectual and social challenges. They learn that poverty, race and gender are not barriers to academic success.a -

AnnieCannons is a registered 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to training survivors of human trafficking in programming and other skills demanded by today's technology companies. We carefully and compassionately assess the aptitude and interest of each survivor in our program and offer literacy, personal finance, and computer literacy training across the student population. We continue by training interested candidates in quality assurance management, web design, and application programming and then helping them practice skills on anti-trafficking technologies as well as, eventually, securing clients on their behalf. Our approach provides the first viable means for directing economic power into the hands of trafficking survivors on a massive scale. That economic power can, in turn, allow survivors to drive necessary economic growth in their own communities and act as change agents by decreasing the vulnerability of communities to trafficking. After a successful proof-of-concept phase in the Bay Area, we will translate and adapt our curriculum for residents at international trafficking rehabilitation shelters, especially in less-developed countries. To that end, we have forged partnerships with NGOs and shelters in Myanmar, India and Romania that are prepared to assist in this translation process. Once we have trained a critical mass of survivors (approximately 26) with in-demand tech skills, we have modeled a means to self-fund: we would handle the branding, marketing, and sale of software development and support services by our trainees on a contractor basis, with the help of US-based sales and marketing teams. The vast majority of contractor fees would go directly into survivors' pockets, but the organization would retain a modest commission that will fund training more survivors and curating a work environment conducive to success. While no graduate would ever be required to work in our organization, we would offer a work environment tailored to be female- and survivor-friendly (for example, with on-site childcare, counseling, nutrition, and security services). We believe that this model can be scaled to cities around the world with high rates of human trafficking and unemployment.
