In this process, LDCRF ensures that these animals are temperament tested, current on all necessary vaccinations, and either spayed or neutered prior to becoming available for adoption. LDCRF conducts public adoption events at area Petsmarts on weekends. These events are staffed by volunteers who interview prospective adopters, answer questions about the animals, and take advantage of the opportunity to educate the public on the benefits of spaying and neutering; the need to obtain proper veterinary care; and of providing basic training to their pets. They await adoption in foster care and at the kennel facility located in Falls Church. The rescue also has a ranch, home to rescued farm animals.

Animals
Everglades Outpost

Their main objective is to take in hurt and injured wildlife, rehabilitate it, and release it back to the wild. If it weren’t for them, these animals would have to be put down. Most of the animals residing at the Everglades Outpost have been confiscated from illegal or abusive situations by Wildlife, Fish and Game Officers, or have been abandoned by their human owners. Their rehabilitation facility provides medical care and treatment to the sick and injured. Whenever possible, the animal is released to its natural habitat. The animals that cannot be returned to the wild are placed in suitable homes, or remain under their care.
